Week 10 - Sorry Mom!

Here's Hannah's first email in two weeks! Hence the title...

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a while, PDays are crazy!

My first week here, we found this guy sitting on his porch and I got one of the strongest promptings to go talk to him so I did. Just in the last year he had a near death experience and overcome a heroine addiction and had been praying for about a week for God to send people to show him the next step. We passed him off to English (so sad) but since then he has stopped smoking, been to church every week and will be getting baptized at the end of the month! Matthew taught me that God truly knows where each one of his children are!!

The less active work is totally taking off!!! We've been able to get 4 less active families to church consistently for the past 3 weeks!! We visited another this week, when she saw us she was just like no I hate you please never come again. Apparently she totally roasted us (I didn't understand most of what she said because I've never heard a native from her country speak before). Hahaha we think she's had problems with missionaries in the past or maybe members. Anyway I asked if I could share a scripture. When I was finished you could physically feel all of the anger and hatred just melt away. She told us she knew she had a hard heart but it was time to come back. So freaking cool!! Our ward mission leader told us she hasn't come in 7 years and missionaries stopped coming because she just chews them out Haha good thing I didn't understand what she was saying!! We're stoked to see her at church next week :)

A new fam moved in last week, actually served in my bro Ben's mission in Ukraine. I got to practice my Russian with him lol he was really confused Haha. They're so awesome!! It turns out the Mom had been married before and the father of her daughter doesn't want her to get baptized! Shes soooooo sweet, she wants to be baptized so bad. We decided with the family that we would all fast this next Sunday. We have been praying for her a lot. We know that her dad will turn around, wouldn't be the first heart that's changed. So please keep my Zoe in your prayers these next couple weeks!!

Also we taught a entire birthday party last night that was pretty sweet there were like 30 people there circled around us ready to listen to the word of God! They gave us cheesecake and asked us to come back. Turns out there were 2 recent concerts there and the Mom is like we all want to get baptized so that's cool!

I want to share with all of you the reality of the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that he lives and came to the earth to show us the way. We all pass through pain, sorrow, and trials but every experience can me made a redemptive experience as we choose to rely on the grace of Jesus Christ. Nothing can replace the lasting peace and joy that comes through Him.

I love you all!!

Hermana Craig
