"When we have faith in Christ, the hardest and the easiest times can be a blessing"

This is a quote I heard in a Mormon Message this week, I found it very beautiful.

Another great week at the MTC has passed. There are tons of things to be happy about.

Let's talk about the Tagalog. It's coming. I am no where near fluent but way better than I was say 6 months ago. Especially because at that time I may or may not have not known it's a language. The glory goes to the gift of tongues I have been blessed with as a missionary. I am so thankful for that and am so excited to see where I'll be in another 6 months.

We had another special devotional. Because my companions and I sing in the choir we got to be in the same room as the speakers. This time it was Dallin H. Oaks and his wife Kristen Oaks. I have now seen three of the twelve apostles! But seriously, I feel so blessed to have heard so many inspiring words from God's chosen apostles. Something Kristen Oaks said that I liked was that we shouldn't ask others to change their lives if we aren't willing to change ours (in regards to obedience in the mission). There was a lot said by Elder Oaks in regards to sustaining President Monson, resurrection, repentance and more. One of my favorite statements he made was that the Lord won't answer hypothetical questions, questions we bring to him must be joined with the promise of a commitment.

Our lessons with investigators are getting better! Rather than sticking to script we are taking a step back and letting the spirit guide as well as trying harder to meet the specific needs of the investigator. Oh how I love my companions. We are becoming best friends. Tons inside jokes are coming about between us. We even had a "laughed so hard milk came out of Sister Session's nose" moment.

I had an experience a few weeks ago in relief society I'd to share because it hasn't left my mind. We were giving a lesson on the creation in Relief Society and Sister Hays had a comment about the beauty of the Earth. She put it this way. When she was starting her freshman year at college her mom made a really big deal about her dorm being cute. She wanted to get a bunch of decorations and just do everything in her power to make her room as beautiful and as comfortable as possible. She likened this to our world. We most certainly could have lived out our lives and fulfilled our purpose in a more bland and desolate place but God loves us so much more than that. This beautiful, breathtaking world is a gift from our Heavenly Father. There are so many amazing sights to see and be grateful for at every turn. I am so thankful.
