alright fam. I just have to say. I LOVE ROMA. It's incredible. So beautiful, and the best part--there's ac in every room in our house!! 😭😭 I could cry I'm so happy. Don't get me wrong, I love my beach town of Ladispoli and the amazing view, but dang I missed the city lights!! At night, we have the most incredible view of Rome at night and I truly couldn't be more happy to serve in the eternal city! As you all know, I am in a trio with my fellow Idahomie and my little fire ball Brazilian. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. the trio life truly is the best life. Sorella belarmino is seriosuly so funny and she makes us the yummiest Brazilian food 😋 in gonna come back so cultured yall don't even know whats about to hit ya. Haha jkjk. But for real I love my life!!
The ward here in Roma is incredible!! The members are so strong and have such a desire to work with the missionaries. We have already witnessed so many miracles and I can't wait to continue to work with these wonderful people. We are teaching some pretty amazing people as well. There was a baptism in this area the day before I came in and the woman that was baptized is incredible! We have been doing calls with her and her testimony is so strong. She's adorable! The big miracle is after her baptism, her daughter said "Io sarò la prossima" which means "I will be the next". Did someone say miracle?? So when we called her this week we asked her about that and why she said that and she told us that in watching her mom and learning a little bit about these things, she feels something she has never felt before. She said she wants to take the lessons, and after the lessons she wants to be baptized!! I was shocked! It was amazing! I truly am so excited to work with her and help her come closer to her Savior. This work is the best!! Definitely the most amazing thing I have ever been apart of, and I would recommend to ANYONE considering going on a mission to GO. don't wait. Just go. You will be blessed immensely, and you will be changed for the better. There truly are no words to describe how grateful I am for this phase of my life. There is nothing else I would want to be doing right now, nor elsewhere I would rather be.
Today is a historical day because guess what? WE ARE GOING TO GO EXPLORE ROMA TODAY! For the first time since the quarantine began, we are finally able to go outside and see Rome again!! Things are slowly getting back to normal! We are still working mostly online, but man oh man am I excited to get out and go see my Italians again. This time in quarantine has taught me so much and I know it was inspired and guided by the Hand of the Lord. It has softened the hearts of the people, and they are ready. I want to share a quote with you that Elder Holland shared with us when we had the devotional with him. He said "these missions oughta skyrocket comin out of this thing" (speaking of both Rome and Milan missions). And I can see that coming to pass! It is happening. This mission is skyrocketing. At the beginning of the year we set a goal to have 220 baptisms for the year 2020. And then corona happened. One would think that that shut out chances down of accomplishing the goal. But instead, it's giving us the opportunity to see the power and the hand of the Lord. I know we will see 220 baptisms! This mission is skyrocketing!!
I love you all. I love this work. I love my Savior, and I know He loves me!!
