Well well well la mia famiglia! This week was a rollercoaster lol. So much happened. So we went and met with this Muslim family that we met on the bus and they offered to feed us dinner. When we got over there they were all waiting for us to start dinner but we had already gotten lunch just like right before. We all started to eat and the dad kept looking at me going "mangia!!" Which is basically them just ordering you to eat lol. It was a struggle. They were super nice though! After dinner the dad started to do his Muslim prayers and we were just kinda like what do we do?? So we talked to them a little about faith and then they tried convincing us to read the quaran... it was quite an experience. We left them with a book of mormon and they said they would read it as a family!
Also this week we were walking down this street and I made eye contact with this old Italian nonno (grandpa) and he just started singing to me! Just some Italian song at the top of his lungs and he was legit trying to serenaded us!! It was the funniest thing. We just walked away dying of laughter. The Italian men here sure do love their Americans...
We met a woman named Roberta and she is so amazing!! She asks so many questions about the gospel and she is really trying to find the truth in her life. We taught her the restoration and invited her to read the book of mormon and she said she would and that she was excited to. We think she's ready for this gospel and she really loves the light and hope of our message.
This week was pretty tough, to be honest. We have had to do a lot of finding because we basically lost all of our teaching pool. In every single moment where I felt I physically could not go on any longer, God always, always, gave me a tender mercy that gave me hope and endurance to keep going. It usually is through a sweet conversation that we have on the street with someone. I have come to know that it is in our deepest moments of despair, the moments where we feel completely abandoned, where we think we can't go on any longer, that that is when the Lord sends us a sign to let us know he's there, he's watching, and he's just waiting for you to turn to him so he can help you. He's helped me so much this past week and I literally could not have made it through without his help! This work continues on in his stead.
Also for those of you who didn't get a chance to watch conference, I invite you all to watch it! It was so amazing!!
Today for p day we went on a hike, and it was literally the most beautiful hike I've ever been on. It looked straight out of a fairytale.
