こんにちは!!
Not much happened this week since Tuesday but we got our transfer calls last Tuesday and I'm staying here in Nagasaki!! I'm way excited because I love Nagasaki sooo much! There is a lot of work to be done here! We have been out working every single day for long hours in the heat looking for opportunies to serve others and share the gospel! It's been way hot and humid but I realized how lucky I am because of the constant ocean breeze here in Nagasaki. It truly is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, crazy hills and all.
This week consisted of dendoing (proselyting) from sunup to sundown! (really 10 am to 9pm #thatmissionaryschedule) Sometimes people may feel that it's really hard work that doesn't account for anything but I absolutely love it! We get to share this beautiful message with so many different people. We testify of Jesus Christ and share a little bit of the light of Christ with them each day. We have still been working on hunting down this list of less-actives and we have ended up in some pretty crazy areas. It really feels like a scavenger hunt adventure sometimes!!
Recently in Nagasaki there have been a lot of summer festivals going on so people have been walking around on the streets in ゆかた (summer kimonos) and it is so cool! Also on weekends there are huge firework shows! Anyways, we stopped this one high school girl in a beautiful summer kimono and she looked so happy when we told her that she looked really beautiful. I know that we brightened her day: two weird sweaty white Americans on bikes telling her that she looked beautiful. Somedays we come back home and we can look back and say: we saw no success whatsoever today! But what I have come to find is that every single day we can make a difference, no matter how small it may seem. Whether it's telling a lady that God loves her, or a young mom with two kids that she can live with her family forever, or telling a cute high school girl that she looks beautiful. We can be representatives of Christ and love and serve our fellow men. This mission is truly an amazing experience and I love hitting the grind every day and going out into the deepest parts of Nagasaki, up the winding roads to the top of the highest mountains to share this wonderful gospel.
全ては良し!!
