This week was so fast! I hit my one year mark yesterday as a missionary and got transferred out of Kampong Cham after serving there for 6 months 💔
There is so much I have loved about my time as a missionary but leaving KC made me realize how much God has blessed me with a love for the people there. They will always hold a special place in my heart.
I have too much to say about them all so I will just try and keep it short. I had the honor of teaching Bii and Bong Theara and they were both baptized on Saturday. Sometimes you worry about if people will show up on time or if they will make it to church the next day, but with them I didn't need to worry. Both if them came super early because they were nervous and excited for their baptism. Both of them have such strong faith and love their Heavenly Father and their Savior. Bii and Bong Theara just looked so happy and filled with the spirit! It was amazing.
The last 6 months and last year of my life has taught me so much! i feel like I am still new but somehow I am at this place in my mission now. I will recap a few things I learned from my time in Kampong Cham:
-Just talk to people and miracles will come
-Don't be afraid to invite! It gives people the chance to decide to follow Christ or not
-Always be kind, even if people drive you crazy
-I have permission to fail
-Talk to God like He is my Dad, because He really is
-The youth are mighty 💪
I love this work and I am so grateful that I get to be a part of the Cambodia, Phnom Penh mission!
Side note: Now I live in Phnom Penh serving in Chamkarmon in the same house as both of my MTC companions Sister Gammon and Sister Price and I just don't know how I got so lucky 🤍 and my new companion Sister Nin is from KC so I got to say bye to her family before I came.
I love you all!
