Sorry long story time…
This wednesday was probably the biggest day of miracles on my mission and I pray I will never forget it. It all started last Monday when I was telling my Dad about two of our investigating friends who are so awesome. Then he asked me what was stopping them from being baptized so I told him a little about their situations. He then challenged me to show faith and invite both of them to be baptized and see what can happen. So on Monday as we were making our weekly plans me and Sister Silva made a plan to invite both of our friends to be baptized and to prepare for a specific day. Tuesday we meet with Bii, a 17 year old who has so much faith. Before her mom had not allowed her to be baptized so we taught her about fasting and invited her to fast for her mom's heart to be changed and me and my companion promised to pray a lot too. Wednesday as we were eating we got a text from Bii "I talked to my mom and I asked her to be baptized again. And the answer is yes"
We were so excited. God really is a God of miracles. And He answered all of our prayers 🤍 Bii even fasted on Friday just to thank God for helping soften her mom's heart! And later Wednesday evening we went to Bong Theara's house, she is a young mom with two little girls. She has been learning with the sisters for almost a year now and her mom is a member but very old and sick a lot. She has really been making an effort to come to church the last three weeks and is so full of faith and love for church. We invited her to be baptized on Wednesday and she just started smiling so big. She told us she has been waiting for us to ask her and give her a date to prepare for. So that was a miracle, I was so happy to be a part of. It has been such a blessing to meet these two amazing women and have the chance to teach them more about their Savior. And me and Sister Silva are just counting down the days until June 10th so we can see our beautiful friends become members in Christ's church!
Not much else happened this week. But I did get to exchange in Kampong Thom which is always a blast haha. Love Sister Dent and Sister Cannon!
There were also lots of moments of just normal missionary work and some disappointments but I am so grateful for the miracles!
I just want to testify that I know fasting has power. And if we really pray and put our trust in God, fasting is so much more than just going hungry for a few hours. We will be able to "resist temptation, overcome burdens, and become free"
