The mission is an adventure
Hey everyone,
Super busy week…I got transferred! I am now in Kampong Cham with Sister Seng and we are white washing our area which means neither of us have served here before. We are living with Sister Hansen and Sister Sokha (my trainor and a new missionary) and they are white washing as well so it is a party.
On Wednesday I said goodbye to some of the members and investigators I spent a lot of time with in Battambong. The saddest goodbye for me was Bong Ohn who got baptized two weeks ago. She doesn't have a phone so I can't really communicate with her anymore and she asked me when I was coming back and I had to tell her maybe I won't be coming back :(
I was sad but also excited to move somewhere new!
Here are a few things I learned in Battambong:
🐒monkeys are scared of snakes
🦆apparently duck eggs taste better than chicken eggs?
🛺 tuk tuks can fit as much stuff as you believe it can
😂when everything is stressing you out, find things that make you happy and laugh it off
😥it's ok to cry, everyone does
(Idk if that is relevant for any of your lives but I thought I would share some of my knowledge.)
Fun fact about Sister Seng (my new companion) I'm pretty sure she is the shortest sister in the Cambodian mission, and no one lets her forget it. All day everyday members and elders tease her but she just laughs along with them. She is so happy all of the time, I want to be more like her!
The scripture I want to share is about faith. In Moroni 10:7 "And ye may know that he is, by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God; for he worketh by power, according to the faith of the children of men, the same today and tomorrow, and forever."
I know that our faith is so important and we have to continually be working on growing it. In Preach my Gospel it tells us that we are able to do miracles according to God's will. I want those miracles in my life and I know that when we try to come closer to God and show our faith in him blessings will come. God wants to help us if we will just reach out in faith. One way I am working on strengthening my faith is praying everyday to see miracles and then believing that they will happen. And each night I write in my journal and think back about how God was in my life and the small miracles I saw. I encourage you all to pray to see a miracle today!
