First of all I need to say that patience is very necessary in life. We have worked with a couple, Johanson and Miguelina, for a little over a month. They are now happily married and Miguelina is now a member of the true church of Jesus Christ. Johanson is preparing to be baptized on the 29th of February. And let me just say I AM SO EXCITED!!! Yesterday they came to church and Miguelina got confirmed and their two little boys were all dressed up and they are so cute! They participated in the discussion in class and honestly it is so amazing to see this family coming closer together because of Christ.
This week was insanely crazy because of this. So all of monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we were organizing the wedding with the decorations, cake, and invitations. Needless to say it was a lot of work. We had district meeting on Tuesday which was a blast, tons of fun. We sung a lot of the childrens songs. But then we had the baptismal interview of Miguelina on Wednesday and Thursday we went to San Pedro to get them married! Hermana Nelson and I were the witnesses of their matrimony!!! Then when we came back we picked up the cake and all the food and set up the chapel for a tiny super cute wedding! They got there and were absolutely adorable! Some words were spoken, we had lots of food and we had their first dance and it was adorable! I love them so much. I am one of the luckiest human beings to be able to serve in this work of God. He made this possible and now they are going to be preparing to enter the temple. Wow. I feel very happy. GOZOSO! Then on Saturday we had the baptism of Miguelina and some of the Elders came and a lot of the branch came actually. But also HERMANA AND PRESIDENT SMITH (the president of the mission) CAME AND BROUGHT BROWNIES!!! Miguelina shared her testimony in front of everyone and honestly it has been one of the best weeks of my mission. I don't know if any of you have felt a love for something so strong that you just have to say that you love it over and over again and that is the best way that you can describe it. That is how I feel about my mission, this family, Consuelo (the city where I am). I LOVE IT ALL!!!!!
Nothing much else happened this week. There were a lot of caravans this week because there was voting on Sunday. So there were a few times where we would be in the street and hear one of the caravans coming and go and contact someone and stay in their house until the caravan passed because it is super dangerous. But this Sunday after church we were in the middle of lunch when we got a call from our leaders saying that we could not leave our house because of all the voting. Apparently there had been a lot of riots and stuff. So we stayed at home super chill stuff. Cleaned and got a head start for the cleaning on pday.
SPIRITUAL TIME!!! (my favorite time)
So first of all some weeks back I finished one of my journals (yay!) So starting my new one I decided that I wanted to try something different. Instead of giving a log of the day I wanted to use it in my personal study, write down what I am learning. Obviously I still write about my day but studies come first in the day entonces . . . I really have been able to incorporate what I learn in our teachings and have been able to retain more of what I learn. I also really love how sometimes I will be studying, receive revelation, and it reminds me of something I studied a few days ago. I then can look back and it is kind of like having references in your own revelation. I encourage that when you study you can have a notebook and write down what you learn, things that you like and things that you think someone else needs to hear. I also invite that you can write down the small simple good things that happen in your day. And whatever also you want, it's your journal! But there is a quote that I really like that I'd like to share. "When every day seems the same, it is because we have stopped noticing the good things that appear in our lives."
I know that through diligent study of the word of God we can and will receive personal and familiar revelation. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and I know that this is the work of the Lord.
Alma 12:10
"And therefore, he that will harden his heart, the same receiveth the lesser portion of the word; and he that will not harden his heart, to him is given the greater portion of the work, until it is given unto him to know the mysteries of God until he know them in full."
Les amo mucho y espero que tengan el mejor semana!

P.S. Transfers are tomorrow!!! It was actually super funny. President Smith is always super excited about transfers and this is the second time that he has told me about them early. But since he was in the baptism after the service was done he we were all eating brownies and trickling out of the church when President Smith comes up to us and says "do you know about transfers yet?" Us "no" Him "Lets just say you wont be getting a transfer call tonight" Jajaja WE ARE BOTH STAYING IN CONSUELO AGAIN!!!! This is crazy. This will be my 5th transfer in consuelo! I am so excited we have some amazing people that are really progressing.
