Okay so once every six weeks our p-days move over to Tuesday, so don't think I'm being apostate or anything because I'M NOT.
We had exchanges this week which are my new favorite things ever. We were over in Springfield and it was just so weird to actually see people outside haha. I finally got to street contact for the first time and I liked it A LOT. Literally, it's the best. This old guy walked up to us and said, "there's a ton of preditors up the street so you girls be careful" so we handed him a card with Jesus on it and walked back to our car. It was fun being in a city where stuff actually happens for a little bit.
It's been raining SO BAD here lately and without a car we're having to walk to appointments in the POURING rain so we walk in completely DRENCHED. We visit with a lady who is in the nursing home and she told us on Friday that she has bronchitis so, "I'VE GOT BRONCHITIS. AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT." Good thing Sister Morgan and I haven't caught it yet lol *knock on wood literally right now*
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT- Here's what I found this week. I was reading in 3 Nephi 11, when Christ comes to the Americas. In verse 14 it says, "Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world."
Elder Holland said, "However dim our days may seem, they have been a lot darker for the Savior of the world. As a reminder of those days, Jesus has chosen, even in a resurrected, otherwise perfected body, to retain for the benefit of His disciples the wounds in His hands and in His feet and in His side—signs, if you will, that painful things happen even to the pure and the perfect; signs, if you will, that pain in this world is not evidence that God doesn’t love you; signs, if you will, that problems pass and happiness can be ours. Remind others that it is the wounded Christ who is the Captain of our souls, He who yet bears the scars of our forgiveness, the lesions of His love and humility, the torn flesh of obedience and sacrifice."
Holland just gets it so good. Jesus Christ is there for us all and seriously knows everything that we feel. When you feel like you can't take it anymore stop and think about Jesus Christ.
Okay have a dang good week.
over & out
