Be a Faith-Filled Disciple of Christ

Happy November!

Wow friends, this week was so good.

To kick it off, we had zone conference...ON HALLOWEEN! Oh my gosh wait. Before I even get into that, I have an announcement. Sister Davidson (my baby) and Sister Stokes (my mtc/part real life comp) ARE COMPANIONS. Awh!

I also just remembered something else I'd like to announce. It was quite ridiculous actually. Sister Knaphus and I were conned into doing a musical number at zone conference with some other sisters. I was not playing the piano, oh no, I was singing...Now, K sings back up in her family band so it was no problem for her. But we were literally up there with a sister who has the voice of a Disney princess. I kid you not. I had no business at that microphone but it's fine, there were 5 of us up there so as Elder Holland says "position yourself next to someone who has perfect pitch." Remember that talk??

Okay but for real, zone conference. It was all centered around this question: How does understanding our need for a Savior affect what we do as Disciples of Christ? You can answer this question in so many ways but to put it simply, I think when we understand our need for a Savior, we will do everything with more intent, more diligence, more urgency, and we will do everything we can to help others understand the need as well. We will live in a way so that the character of Christ is woven into every fiber of our being. We won't be "part-time" disciples, but we will be the same faith-filled disciple of Christ no matter the situation we are in.

Favorite quote from the conference. "Don't limit the powers of heaven through your choices." Just let that simmer.

Also, it turned from fall to winter real quick. One day there were leaves everywhere, tractors cleaning them, pretty colors. Next, we had a typhoon and everything blew away, then it snowed. Pictures and videos are available.

Found a new gator this week! We met Mike while we was throwing away his rotten pumpkin. Good guy. His wife died four years ago, he has three kids, doesn't have the best relationship with a lot of his family and he wants to change that. He really opened up a lot and we shared Ether 12:27 with him. "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." That scripture reminds me of Philippians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." We are excited to see him again this week!

Fun fact: Sister Knaphus taught me how to charge my glow in the dark Halloween stickers.

Last miracle of the week: Two random girls showed up at church on Sunday. We for sure thought they were 21 but turns out they are 16 and 17. They were there for a class in school. Interesting that they happened to come on Fast Sunday! They had a lot of questions after and said really nice things. Plus, I bore my testimony for the first time in a fast and testimony meeting (yeah, I know) and I can honestly say that when you bear your testimony to others, yours strengthens! Do it!

That it all. HAVE A SPLENDID WEEK.
