Sister Alton

Hello Everyone!
I don't have much more time to write, so this will be on the shorter side, but we had a super awesome week full of well....missionary work! It was great.
We had appointments filling up almost all of our free time, so that was a really nice change of pace.
I wont include everything but a few cool things that happened this week:
Monday we had a lesson with Nils, the media referral. It was a really good lesson! We taught him the restoration of the gospel and about the book of Mormon! we came back 2 days later and he had read 1 Nephi 1-2 Nephi 9 in the Book of Mormon!! It was really cool. This lesson was a little frustrating, because he had talked a lot with his pastor, read a lot of stuff online, and had received a lot of false information. It just goes to show that Satan really is working really hard on those who are close to the truth. We really got to bear solid testimony about the Book of Mormon. I'm so glad that I actually DO have a testimony of it. I KNOW without a doubt that its God's word. I love being able to share that with others, because nothing is more powerful than heartfelt testimony. Not even doubt and skepticism.
We also had another lesson with Marilena! We had taught her last week and then didn't hear from her and feared that maybe she was ignoring us. BUT to our surprise, she called us and we got to meet up again. We taught her the Plan of Salvation and it was a good lesson. She didn't agree with us on some things (pre-earth life) but once again we got to bear testimony and then invite her to find our for herself. She is very skeptical of the Book of Mormon, but we invited her to read in it and pray.
We meet a few other new people this week. Khlaid, a man from Pakistan, Marianna, a little old lady, and a few less actives.
We as a mission are also focusing more on the youth and young adults. The apostles have come out and said that we need not focus on baptizing families anymore rather on the youth and young adults. We have been challenged by our mission president to go and eat at the college cafeterias as often as possible and get involved with them. Soooo, we decided to try it out. It turned out to be pretty weird and uncomfortable, kinda felt like I was back in school and not on a mission :P But hey this year we are reaching out and getting our of our comfort zones, so hopefully we can meet some more young people to teach! Prayers are always welcomed as well (:

Many other amazing things happened but I'll just end here.
I want to share something that I learned from my personal study today. It comes from something Joseph Smith said about Knowledge. he says: Knowledge does away with darkness, suspense and doubt; for these cannot exist where knowledge is...In knowledge there is power. God has more power than all other beings, because He has greater knowledge, and hence He knows how to subject all other beings to Him. He has power over all."
Well, that's all for this week. I love you all and I am grateful for your prayers and thoughts. Bis bald!
