Sister Terry

I don't even know where to begin this week! We have seen so many miracles and gave had so many tender moments. It's been amazing!
Let me just start by telling you about Sunday, the best day of the week! This Sunday we had a special sacrament meeting. We called it the "Come and See Sunday". The stake put forth a big effort to invite everyone we know to come and see what a church service is like. Of course anyone is always welcome, but this service was very focused on the basics of our beliefs and why we worship the way we do.
All week Sister Terry and I have been working so hard to get everyone we are teaching to church this week. By Saturday night we had four people the said they would come! We were so excited! But, unfortunately by the time we got to church they had all cancled... except for one, GLADYS! If you don't remember, Gladys was our Miracle from last week. She doesn't speak very much English but she just decided to show up to church!
So here Sister Terry and I are, being all mopey because our people canceled on us, and then we see Gladys walking into the church building. Wait! It gets better! Gladys brought her Sister and her niece!
Last Sunday when we had no way of communicating to Gladys, we just downloaded Gospel Library onto her phone, set it to French, and sent her on her way, praying the spirit would teach her. Well, come to find out, she has been studying it all week and loved it! Not only that, but she shared it with her family and they loved it too!!! AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY SPEAKS ENGLISH!!! They are all just so prepared for the gospel! We are teaching the family this week!
Okay, one more miracle. This one was definitely a humbling moment for me.
So on a day Sister Terry and I didn't have a car, we got dropped off in an area about 30 min before our appointment. We do the classic, pray to ask the Lord where se need to go. Sister Terry says, "I think we need to walk down to Rowers Town Road and see if there are any houses". Now, Rowers Town Rd is a high way coming off of the freeway. It has a bunch of businesses off of it but I was like, " No way are there going to be any houses on that road". Well we go and look. Sure enough there are about 5 houses towards the end of the road!
We knock on the door and Bibo (BEE-BOE) answers! Bibo is a 20 yr old med student. His family is from Egypt and the NICEST people ever! He let's us in and we teach him and his mom about The Book of Mormon. He was so interested in the fact the God spoke to all of His children and we have record of that! We read with him a little bit from the introduction of the Book of Mormon and asked him to pray right there to know if the Book of Mormon is true! We got on our knees and offered a prayer. The spirit was so strong and he got up from the prayer and was just grinning ear to ear. The spirit confirmed to all of us the The Book of Mormon is truely the word of God. He thanked us for sharing the Book of Mormon and told us to come back! Bibo is going to be baptized! I just know it!
So I just have to share one more experience from this week. On Tuesday I had my last zone conference. (No, I'm not actually extending, that was a joke everyone. April fools!) At zone conference the missionaries that are leaving have the opportunity to share their testimonies. It was such a special moment for me to be able to reflect back on the last 17 months and recognize all the Lord has taught me. I am so grateful for every single hard moment that has brought me to my knees and strengthened my relationship with my Father in Heaven and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I and so grateful the the Lord has cared for me enough to humble me and teach me that my strength is in the Lord. I know that He loves us. I know that throug Jesus Christ, and His gospel, we can all find lasting happiness in this life and the life to come. I know that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith to restore the Lords kingdom, in its fullness, to the earth. I know that The Book of Mormon is true and through it I have truly come to know my savior.
These are just a few things I have come to know over the the past few months. I could never fully express what this knowledge means to me. My heart is overfilled with gratitude for the testimony I have grown. This church is true!
I love you all! Have a great week!
Sister Rich
