Let me tell yah, this week has been CRAZY! I don't know if its possible to fit everything that happened into one email, but I will try my best!
First of all, I got a new companion, Sister Terry! She is amazing and we are already best friends. Sister Terry is from American Fork Utah. She went to Lone Peak High School, She came out two transfers after I did, and fun fact about her, she sleep walks. Like really bad...No joke, a few nights ago she literally screamed, jumped out of bed, and ran across the room. When I asked her what was wrong she said, "The envelope box got full of air and exploded! It scared me!" So yeah, this will be a fun transfer!
We have had such a miracle filled week. We started teaching six people this week and I have no doubt it's because Sister Terry is the most hard working, faith-filled missionary I have ever met. She also knows just how to connect with people in such a natural way that everyone we meet feels this connection with her and are inviting us to come back! She is such an answer to my prayers! I can't wait to learn from her.
One of the ladies we started teaching this week is named Jenna. Her coworker is a member and when he recognized she was struggling he asked her if she would like to meet with us and she said yes! the first thing Sister Terry and I did when she got here is go meet with Jenna. We didn't even have time to plan a lesson but we said a prayer and asked for the guidance of the Lord and had an AMAZING lesson. Jenna is so ready to make changes in her life and is so excited to learn. I'm super excited to learn more.
Another lady we started teaching this week was Amanda. This is someone who I have met a few times but the timing just wasn't right. Both Sister Terry and I felt prompted to stop by her this week. As we were walking to her house we passed her on the street! She was walking to Arby's and so we walked with her and chatted (Side note: It was less than 10 degrees outside. YIKES!). The entire time she talked about how she doesn't feel like she has any sort of purpose in life and just feels stuck. We were able to teach her about God's plan for us, the Plan of Salvation, and testify of Jesus Christ's Atonement. Right then and there we had her say her first ever vocal prayer. As she started speaking the spirit overcame her and she started to cry. These are the most precious moments anyone could ever witness. Watching someone connect to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Miracles are Real!!!!
I love you all. Have a great week! Make good choices.Sister Rich
