Happy pdayyyy
Hope your week was incredible and flashed by as fast as mine did. It's been really fun being able to see Hermana Guzmán witness mission time cause she is in awe that today is pday
On Tuesday it was our dear minorlie's bday so ofc we had to celebrate her!! We decorated a room of the church and bought her a cake and surprised her, her reaction was so cute. Every Tuesday we have our district council and we've developed a tradition of going to Papa John's with the Elders to have lunch! It's been so fun and I honestly love this district so much andddd big a plus side is that the papá johns we go to is in the same mall that our friend Luis works at so we always get to stop in and say hi!! This past Tuesday on our way home i was casually sitting in the passenger side of our Uber when all of the sudden something caught my eye. I looked and to my horror there was the HUGEST spider on the mirror. I literally almost had a heart attack cause I though it was inside the car but luckilyyyy our giant passenger princess was riding along side me outside.
On Wednesday nothing too interesting happened but I did get us lost at 8pm on our way to a noche de hogar in an area that definitely wasn't ours and happened to be un pocíto peligroso. We just kept walking and walking until I looked around and things looked a little familiar... but then I realized it was a little TOO familiar and that we were out of our current area and in one of my old areas. Sorry Guzmán I swear I know our area (well....🤔)
On Thursday I somehow hit another cumplemes/month mark in the mission and honestly the higher the number gets the more it hurts. My comp was so so sweet and decorated my desk and got me a necklace and we celebrated with Bon ice cream (ofc)
Friday and Saturday we took time for a couple service projects and service parties for an English school run by members in our ward. We helped them clean and prepare on friday and then on Saturday helped out with some face painting!! It was so fun and I learned how difficult it is to paint rainbows and unicorns on super wiggly niños.
We ended off the week on Saturday and Sunday with 2 super awesome fhes with members! I love getting to know the members better and creating connections with them 💗💗
OK let's get into the nitty gritty of what actually happened this week. There was not a single day that went by this week where every lesson we had planned, went through. In fact it was very very rare if not every single one of our lessons fell through in a day 🙃 it was exhausting. It was defeating. And it was really annoying haha. This week felt like everything was just falling through my fingers and there was nothing I could do to stop it. We prayed so hard for direction, we walked aimlessly- knocking so many Doors and at one point I had no idea what to do anymore so we just bought popsicles and sat on a park bench. Sometimes life is like that. Sometimes we put all our efforts in and see no results. But through it all, I always felt like there was a purpose to the great fall of this week. I felt like God was testing us to see if we truly had the desires to keep going and to be disciples of His Son. And after this crazy week of cancellations, I can truly say I tried and I worked and that my efforts were there. I am here in the mission to be His converted Disciple and although i might have weeks like this, I will not stop to be His dedicated missionary.
Elder Holland said, "Every road to salvation has to pass through Calvary at some point" now I'm not saying that this week was even a fraction of what the Savior went through, but it reminded me that "Salvation is not a cheap experience" and that I will have difficulties in and out of the mission but as long as I keep my covenants, it is a 100% guarantee that I will be blessed with peace and comfort in my life and eternal life to come.
I love you all so much and hope this week goes amazing for everyone
