Ko hoku hingo? ko sist? uetoni ?

Happy pdayyyy
This week was sooo crazy fast I hardly remember the days 🤔
The weather has been pretty humid and rainy lately and everytime we decided NOT to bring our umbrellas, it decided to downpour on us 🥲 we left a members house when it was raining like crazy and luckily the member gave us a giant umbrella to share. Unfortunately the umbrella had holes in it and the rain came in on us anyways hahaha at least we got to cool off a little bit but we ended up completely soaked ☔️ One night we finished up by going up to the roof of our apartment and making some phone calls. Before we could even get through the first call, it poured on us again so we had to run back down. Needless to say, rainy season has definitely started and I'm loving it.
This week the gift of tongues has been working pretty hard with us since me and hmna Kaufusi have decided to learn Haitian Creol. It's super similar to French and we have lots of friends who speak it. We are learning a prayer so that we can use it in a lesson and holy cow this language us tricky. The lessons we have with our Haitian friends are so cool because we bring a member who can translate for us! We usually speak 2-3 languages during the lesson and it is so cool to see the scripture, " Every man shall hear the fulness of the gospel in his own tongue, and in his own language, through those who are ordained unto this power" being fulfilled!! I'm so grateful I get to be a missionary and see a whole new perspective of sharing the gospel🤍🤍 Hermana Kaufusi is also teaching me a little Tongan and even gave me a Tongan name "uetoni". She's starting to introduce me to our friends as hermana Uetoni and I would correct her, but they can pronounce it a lot easier than Whetten so I guess we're sticking with uetoni 😂
Finding in this area is a little trickier than in the south. There are lots of people here that just really don't want to hear anything from the missionaries BUT the Lord has really blessed our efforts and we've recieved some amazing references and found a couple of really amazing people through service! I have a lot of hope for this area and can't wait to see these people progress ❤️
On Saturday we went to an English school to help teach a little English. We decided to play a game with the Niños and it got a little crazy. I way underestimated the competitiveness of these little Dominican children but 2 seconds into the game and everyone was screaming 💀 it was pretty fun minus the part where the kids told me I had a giant spider on my shoulder and it was true.
This week was filled with lots of blessings, lessons, and laughs (especially when Kaufusi sat on her bed and broke the whole bottom of the bed frame....ya she sleeps on the floor now)
Well that's all for this week I hope you all I have an amazing week!!
Te amo-hermana uetoni 🤟🤟
