Cyclone Saturday ?????

Happy Pdayyyy
I hope you all had the best week of your lives 🫶
This week was so crazy and went by super fast!! Honestly nothing too exciting happened during the week except that we set a baptismal date for our friend Angelica!!! She's the sweetest 16 year old and we have become such good friends 🫶 Other than that we've just been working super hard and finding lots of people!
This Saturday we got hit pretty hard with a cyclone/tropical storm and tons of houses and cars were flooded and destroyed. There was sooo much rain and thunder and lightning, it as crazy. It was really hard to see so many people's lives flipped upside down overnight. I've seen videos before of floods and hurricanes like this but it's never hit so close to home like it did this time 😕 on Sunday our sacrament meeting was canceled and we went to a members house that was flooded to help them clean up. It was a lot of sweeping water out of their house, hauling furniture, bags of clothes, shoes, and other personal items out and helping them clean all the rain water off their stuff. We were there for a good part of the day and finished our night off with a couple lessons, an fhe, and texts to make sure our other friends were OK. Keep the DR in your prayers 🙏
With all the craziness going on with the floods, I've been thinking a lot of the story in Mark 4:37-41 when a huge storm arises as the 12 apostles and Jesus are traveling across the sea. The apostles get pretty freaked out as the storm gets worse so they woke the Savior up so He could help them out. After rebuking the wind and calming the ocean, He turned to His disciples and asked why they were so fearful and where had their faith gone?  Although they were passing through a storm strong enough to end their lives, they didn't need to fear because the Savior of the World was right there with them in their boat. There is nothing that can overcome our Savior Jesus Christ. He has the power to control the stormy seas of our lives, but it is our choice whether or not we will stay in the boat and have faith in His power, or if we will abandon ship and tread the turbulant waters of life alone. I hope you have all invited Christ onto your boats and that we will all be able to have faith in His power when difficult times arise.
I love you all so much and wish you a very happy Thanksgiving 😊
