happy pday!!!
I hope you all had the loveliest conference weekend!! This week was so amazing because we saw some real progress with our friends!
We invited our friend Elina to be baptized and she said.... no. But only because she's going through some really hard personal times right now, so we all decided that we would fast the next day for her so that we would be able to find some solutions for her problems. The next day we fasted and holy cow satan was working hard on us cause so many people offered us food and we even got invited to dinner!! But we stayed strong and powered through for Elina✊ Her problems weren't cured the next day but we did receive some beautiful ideas during conference on how to get her closer to baptism!
Last week on Sunday we received a reference named Jose Luis. He wanted a Book of Mormon so we took our Bishop and a BOM and headed to his house. Pretty much he's golden and we had 3 really amazing lessons with him and he even watched a couple of sessions of conference with us! He's so cool and we've got high hopes for him.
Rafael is progressing super well and watched every single session of conference! He is so loved by the ward members and fits right in! Ward members truly make all the difference in missionary work!! Watching conference this time was so amazing because there were so many messages perfectly said for all my friends! The speakers are truly so inspired and I hope you all were able to hear Gods voice through His leaders❤
I loveddddd President Nelsons message and could not stop smiling throughout his whole talk. When they announced that our Prophet was going to speak I was so excited and reminded of a talk given last conference in April. Its titled "A Living Prophet for the Latter Days" by Elder Allen D. Haynie. He starts his talk off by talking about one Saturday morning when he discovered General Conference instead of his cartoons. He says,
"While looking at the television and lamenting that there was no cartoon, I saw a white-haired man in a suit and tie sitting in a nice chair. There was something different about him, so I asked my oldest brother, “Who is that?”
He said, “That’s President David O. McKay; he’s a prophet.”
I remember feeling something and somehow knowing that he was a prophet. "
This is exactly how it felt when Presidents smiling face appeared on the screen. I can truly testify that Russel M. Nelson is our prophet and is called of God!!
Anyways if you guys made it this far ill end with a quick little story haha So the other day me and my comp were waiting in the street for our next lesson and this crazy dancing man came up to us and asked us what our names were. I said my name was hermana Whetten and he looked at me so confused and told me he didn't speak English 😶😶😶 I told him "haha it's OK because I am talking in Spanish" and he just laughed so awkwardly at me and walked away. Rip to my Spanish but it was pretty funny and my comp laughed at me the rest of the day 😂
I hope you all had an amazing week!!
Te amo 🤟-Hermana Whetten
