Happy pday!! I hope your first week of September was amazing!! These months are going 100 mph and I cannot keep up 😵
On Tuesday we headed down to residency for my comp and holy cow there were soooo many people there!! We were super excited to sit in a building with ac for a couple hours but it actually ended up being hotter inside 🥵 Afterwards we walked across the street to the ocean which was so gorgeous!! Sometimes I forget I'm living on an island 😅
Wednesday was a pretty normal teaching day and we did our first chapel tour! We showed our new friend Genesis the church and explained what a normal Sunday service looked like! She had some really awesome questions and it was going super great until she asked us if anyone else was in here with us cause she saw something tall and dark look in the room. That kinda freaked us out but we did a thorough check and nobody was there 🤷♀️
Thursday we had an exchange with the hermanas in Independencia!! I went to their area with hermana Dennings 🥳 and her companion took my spot for the day in Enriquillo. I had a super fun time in their area meeting all their friends and having them sing happy birthday to H. Dennings since it was her birthday!! I think I'm going to legally change my last name to western becuase thats the only thing people actually call me 😂 It was so fun meeting everyone and I hope I can go back sometime soon🤞 The next day I packed everything up and we tried to take an Uber back to Enriquillo but we somehow ended up 15 minutes away in hermana Dennings old area Bella Vista!! We were so confused and had to get another Uber but we eventually made it home haha
Friday was an amazing day because we set our friend Genesis on date!! (different girl than our chapel tour) We had a super spirit filled lesson with her and invited her to be baptized and she said yes!! She said she'd already been thinking about who she wanted to baptize her and what day would work best for her parents and sister to come!! We are so so proud of Genesis and I feel so lucky to know her and be able to help her make the very first step on her covenant path ❤️❤️
Saturday we had a super good lunch with some members and then walked for almost an hour to get to a stake primary activity! The theme was "Yo quiero ser un misionero" or "I want to be a missionary". The primary asked if we could share our mission experience and answer a couple of questions and of course we were so happy to do so!! They all had little missionary tags and it was so cute seeing all these little future missionaries🥰 I'm not sure any of them were listening, but it was super fun being able to share my testimony with them and hopefully inspire them to serve!!
On Saturday during my personal study I went on a bit of a scripture chase and found so many answers I had been praying for!! It was so fun and satisfying to find so much and it was incredible to see how connected the Bible and the Book of Mormon are!! They really compliment each other and reading them both makes the puzzle of life become a little bit clearer everytime I study. Guys I promise you that every answer you are looking for and needing can be found in the scriptures!! They are POWERFUL and we are so incredibly blessed to have them at our fingertips. If you aren't studying every day, why not?? If you aren't reading from the Bible, why not?? If you aren't reading from the Book of Mormon, why not?? Look in the right places for your answers and I promise you will find them.
