I hope everyone is doing good and had a wonderful New Years. Not much you can do to celebrate as a missionary other than maybe stay up a little later haha, but it has been a great holiday season.
However, with the holidays, not too much has been going on here in Blacksburg, Virginia! All the students are starting to finally come back from break which is great. This place has seriously been like a ghost town. But here are a few things that went down this week.
- We did some yard work for a widow in our ward. We shoveled and laid down some mulch in some of her garden beds. Reminded me of when I use to help my mom in her garden or the green house...love my mom but gardening was not and is still not my thing. I'll stick to fixing pipe. But it was fun! Even got to roast hotdogs as we burnt their Christmas tree.
- We played ball with the young men and other Elders Thursday! Unfortunately, only one kid came! haha. Gonna have to reschedule on a different day of the week because they have games and stuff, but it was still fun. I felt bad when I had to swap him out. As most of you guys know speed is never on my side so I have to use my lengthy arms to make up for it.
- District Council was super fun. Nothing crazy like the week before with the white elephant gifts, but we just have a fun group of missionaries. Lots of laughs and jokes told. Our focus this week is working through less actives so that will be a challenge! We are up for it!!
- I finished the Book of Mormon this week! I love this book! (It is true btw). The timing was perfect as we started the Come Follow Me this week too. We had a great lesson about it during Sunday school this week. I loved the points we talked about. The Book of Mormon is the keystone of our Religion. In the introduction of page of the Book of Mormon in the 2nd to last paragraph is Moroni's promise, which as you know is located in the last chapter of the Book of Mormon. If we pray to know if it's TRUE, the spirit will continually bless us with a feeling of its truthfulness. And not just once, but every time you read it!
THE BOOK IS BLUE….THE BOOK IS TRUE!!
Have a great week!
