Howdy, Howdy, Howdy!
Merry Christmas to friends and fam back home. I hope you all have a great holiday season. Things have been pretty good here in Virginia this week. As you all know I was transferred this week and ended up going to Blacksburg, Virginia. I live right by Virginia Tech...go Hokies!
The week started off with me packing and saying goodbye to the good people in Lexington. I made a lot of good friends in Lexington and will sure miss the families in the ward. The best part was when we had to play Candy Land with the Bishops grandson. Haha I felt bad when I lost to a 4- year old. He had had lots of practice. Wednesday, we had to be at the church by 4 a.m. so we could get headed up to Roanoke. We ended up getting to the Blacksburg Church building around 6ish in the morning. When I got here I remembered that we don't have a car...so we just left my luggage at the church and walked to the bus stop.
My new companion is Elder Martin from Alamo, Nevada. He is awesome and is a beast (meaning a good missionary!!) Our days consist of walking, riding the bus, and just talking to people, which I really like! The members here are really GREAT! It’s funny, a lot of them are kind of nerdy and like to play board games. Fortunately, the mission has nerded me out quite a bit so I fit in better than y'all would expect. Haha! I mean who doesn’t like to play Chutes and Ladders?
We had a special Christmas meeting for church. All 3 of the local wards came together for sacrament. Lots of music and short talks. Good stuff.
I totally came prepared for people to ask me where I was from. So I made my home screen a pic of Utah and outlined Wayne County so that I didn’t have to explain where I was from for 20 minutes and 200 times!
I just hope everyone has a great Christmas this week and hope that you really feel the Christmas spirit and remember why we celebrate. Our Savior is out greatest gift! Thanks for all the love and support and the cards and the gifts! Love you all.
