Howdy howdy howdy!!!!
Hope y'all had a fantastic week! Things here in Virginia are great. So this is what is up...
It seems like we have done so much service lately. We help at a place called the Bishops Store house. Later that day we went to a famous place called Kenny’s. It's a restaurant owned by a member so they treat us really well! They make some super good fried chicken, so I was in heaven. The next day we had another service at some sorta kitchen. It was alright but holy crap we cleaned a lot of dishes! That same day, we found a cool guy named Mike. I couldn't understand what he was saying most of the time, but he had a lot of cool deer and fish mounts on his wall. I will send a pic! Plus, he drinks Pepsi, (and other types of beverages, I am sure!) My type of man right there…..the Pepsi part!!
This week we also had to go and stack hay for a member. That was pretty fun in a weird way. When you are on a mission you miss the jobs you hated to do back home! We were asked to go preach at the gentleman's church who they bought the hay from. So that will be interesting. Yikes!
Friday was a super fun day. We had district council that morning which was good! We had exchanges after with the YSA elders. I was blessed enough to go with my old comp Elder Jackson for the day. What a blast! The institute was doing a fun get together thing with the YSA that day at the church. We got to play some games and even ride a mechanical bull too. (Just imagine a bunch of Elders in their white shirts and ties, riding a mechanical bull!! Haha) Was a super dope day! Saturday was good too. We had to exchange back and go to a lunch appointment with this family. They are a great family! We later had to help move a family as well! That was like the 2nd one this week. Lots of new people coming in! Sunday was good. It was fast Sunday so no early morning meetings. Lots of powerful testimonies and a good Sunday school lesson. Something cool that happened. I ran into the Palmer family from Cowen. They were visiting their son that week. It was super good to visit and talk with them. Especially Sister Weese. She was the one who kept us alive by feeding us each week in Cowen.
Spiritual Thought: 38 Behold, I say unto you, that the good shepherd doth call you; yea, and in his own name he doth call you, which is the name of Christ; and if ye will not hearken unto the voice of the good shepherd, to the name by which ye are called, behold, ye are not the sheep of the good shepherd.
Christ is our good shepherd and it is through his name we are saved. As members of the church we can also assist the Lord by gathering those lost sheep. Reach out to them and love them.
Also...if you guys haven't heard. We are getting a new mission president this transfer! President Lindhardt will be leaving to recover from cancer. Keep him and the Lindhardt family in your prayers. I will miss them a lot! They have changed my life in so many ways and have blessed my missionary experience.
Have a great week!
Thanks for all the love!
