Independence Day

Well howdy!
I Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July week. Mine was such a blast! GO MERICA, bleedin red, white, and blue!
This week the teaching was pretty slow up until the 4th. We had to pump up our neighbor’s tire with a bike pump. After that, all we did was contact around town and go to the library. It was good though and we meet alot of cool people by doing that. There was one feller named Melton. He was a returned Vietnam Vet and a pretty cool guy to visit with. That same night before the 4th we had to help set up tables and everything for our branch breakfast the next morning. We helped cook eggs and pancakes and had such a good time. I really love this branch!
We get to do a lot of service. We went to a less active members house and put together a grill for him. It was like I was back home working at Brian Farm for a day. He made us hot dogs and turned on Independence Day in the background, which was awesome! That night we had an interesting surprise. We were walking out of the house to go return the bike pump when we met President Lindhart at the door. We invited him to walk with us back to the members house. We came back to our apartment and did interviews. It is always super good to talk to him and see him. The rest weekend was fun! District council was a blast. Had two member meal appointments this week with some of the coolest people. So it ended up as a good week! We did find out how ever that Elder Aardema is leaving Bedford this week, so I will be getting a new companion. I will miss him! I had such a great time serving with him for sure. I have been so fortunate to have awesome companions, for the most part!

Spiritual thought: A scripture that was brought up in Sunday school.
Acts 2: 37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The part I loved in this scripture was when they were pricked in the heart by the holy ghost, they then wanted to act on their feelings/promptings. They acted in faith. May we all have this same love for the gospel and others when prompted by the spirit.
Have a great everyone!
Love and miss you all!
