Happy Memorial Day

Howdy ya’ll!
Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone has a good holiday and has had a better week on top of that! A big thank you to all of our service men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

This week has been an interesting one for sure with alot of laughs. Tuesday through Wednesday we had zone leader exchanges. I was with Elder Harward and man was it a blast. We were able to have a really good time and meet a lot of cool people that day too. He is a really good missionary. Thursday and Friday we had exchanges with Flatwoods Elders as well. I was able to go to Flatwoods for the night with Elder Anderson, and it is always a good time to switch it up and go with different elders. We did lots of service that day. Fortunately, they have a fishing pond right by their house so after working we were able to go throw a couple of casts which is always a good time! I had to exchange back early the next morning.
Our neighbor, our mission Grandma Dawna, needed help fixing her computer. I have no idea how she could mess it up as bad as she did…. but she did! I wanted to call Elder Britton Taylor so bad to help me out! hahah but with YouTube and messing around with it a bit, we got it fixed!
This weekend we had the opportunity to help out at the Wood Choppers Festival in Webster springs! And yes….these are the festivals that you see on tv, when a big hefty guy can slice a piece of log in about 1.6 seconds flat!! We took money all day, so we didn’t get to see much. All we did was open and close the gate so that the cars in the car show could pass through. It was a good change though. We worked with a really cool guy named Kenny and had a really funny experience.... it started pouring and we were all hiding under the canopy. One of Kenny's friends saw our name tags and said jokingly." why don’t you ask Him for it to quit raining" and right when he said that it stopped raining for like 15 seconds. All we could do is laugh at that one. God is always looking out for us! Sunday was rough.. only 4 people showed up at church, so we cancelled. All good though. I also found out that I am also leaving Cowen this week too! Time really flies out here. Loved this place and the people I've been able to meet.

Spiritual Thought: Mosiah 27: 25 And the Lord said unto me: Marvel not that all mankind, yea, men and women, all nations, kindreds, tongues and people, must be born again; yea, born of God, changed from their carnal and fallen state, to a state of righteousness, being redeemed of God, becoming his sons and Alma and the sons of Mosiah changed their hearts and were redeemed they then became sons of God. We too must be born again and become redeemed in order to have that same blessing.

Love to you all,
Elder Brian
