Hey guys! It has been another great week here in WV. Since last p-day, the time has just flown by!!
This week was transfer week. My new comp is named Elder Jackson. What a stud! He has been out for 13 months and is from American Fork. We are going to have fun! He used to do door-to-door sales out in California, so he is a good talker! Elder Jackson is our District leader and had to plan a meeting the next day after he got here. It was a good one though.
My last few days with Elder Pickett were great! We send him off with a bang and found two new investigators this week named Richard and Kendrick. Halloween was really weird being on a mission. We weren't allowed to trick or treat (bummer…haha) but Elder Pickett was able to get all packed up and moved out during that time so that was good.
I went on exchanges with the YSA Elders while I waited for my new comp. We helped them pick up some new people to teach. We were able to help at this local Winter Posse thing. So fun! We raked leaves for 6 hours straight…. but change was really good. We met a lot of cool people too. And for the bonus…. NO DOGS this week! Wahoo!! God does answer prayers!
Paul Glass was finally baptized this week! He has been investigating the church now for 2 years and was finally converted. That was such an amazing moment to watch him enter the waters of baptism and make those covenants with the Lord. He is the guy who teaches us how to play pool. He is so good! He is a really good guy and I have grown to really love him.
Spiritual Thought: In Jacob 4:14 But behold, the Jews were a stiffnecked people; and they despised the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble.
My people….The Gospel is simple and pure. God made it so plain and simple and easy for us to understand. Don't miss the mark by looking into things that are too deep. Keep it simple!
I hope you all have a great week!
Thanks for all of the love and support, and all of you that send me letters and emails. I love them!
Love Elder Brian
