Off to the Rescure He Hastens, Bringing Them Back to the Fold
Hello Lovely People! Not much time today - but lot's of pictures!
Also thank you for all the birthday wishes and gifts! You are so thoughtful and I'm so so grateful! Love you all! #itfeelsweridtobe20
We are still doing as much as we can down in El Paso! We were able to meet with the bishop and the ward mission leader this week to go over plans for a ward mission plan. This ward is so willing to work together as members and missionary work - we just need to harness it into effective work!
The Chamizal Stake (my old zone) also had their Stake Conference this week! We have church at the same building so we were in meetings while it was going on. When our meeting finished we walked out and my mouth just fell open... Nancy - one of my old investigators was sitting in the foyer playing with her children and listening to the Stake Conference!! I was so so SO HAPPY. I just was trying not to cry. She had been going through so many hard things and so when I was teaching her she just never came to church and we lost contact with her. I just hoped that one day she'd come back and there she was at church preparing to be baptized in two weeks.
I was so so grateful to Heavenly Father for that tender mercy. It immediately makes me think of the hymn: "Dear to the Heart of the Shepherd", especially the third verse:
Dear to the heart of the Shepherd,
Dear are the "ninety and nine";
Dear are the sheep that have wandered
Out in the desert to pine.
Hark! he is earnestly calling,
Tenderly pleading today:
"Will you not seek for my lost ones,
Off from my shelter astray?"
She was a wandering sheep that came back and I am so grateful God let me experience a small portion of his joy.
