Chivilcoy, Argentina

Hermana Córdova

Argentinian Roller Coaster Ride

(As opposed to a Hawaiian one) We talked about our favorite Disney movies and everybody said Lilo and Stitch :) because it's the best :)

The weather this week was crazy! All over the place, hot and cold and rainy and dusty. Kind of like Alabama, but a little dryer.. but like Alabama, when it rains, it POURS. We had a lot of fun with our boots and jackets riding our bikes through the puddles! but nobody wanted to let 2 soaking wet missionaries in. :/

UNTIL we found Juan Pablo
-side note: whenever someone tells me there name is Juan, Jorge, Maria, or Marie, I am very skeptical. I think it's like when you tell somebody your name is John because you don't want them to know you're actual name... but really it's just that those are everyone's names here.

ANYWAYS Juan Pablo! He's about 60 years old and has been smoking since he was 12! He has a terminal illness, but he expressed his desire to stop smoking so maybe he can live a little longer. He has a super cool raspy voice! anyway, he was super serious about attending church with us, but he got a fever and his health really isn't so good :( we're going to go visit him tonight and see how it goes!
That was our miracle for the week. Other than that it's been kind of slow because Hermana Córdova is recovering! On Friday we had a Family Home Evening at the church and we had a bunch of carnival games :) and we taught about the degrees of glory and it was really fun!
And Sunday we had a "special missionary Sacrament meeting" where we sang "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" to the tune of "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" <3 and on the third verse, one of the elders recited the First Vision and it was BEAUTIFUL!
Then I SPOKE in church! I kind of volunteered and I was super nervous! I had a good plan, and a lot written down! and I got up there and said about 20% of what I had actually written. but I didn't struggle too bad with my spanish so that's a blessing! and everybody was so nice about it!

A few things I learned this week:-1 Nephi 2:15 shows the faith of Lehi. He dwelt in a tent. He had a very nice home and nice things in Jerusalem and He had enough faith in the Lord to leave all of that and leave in a tent because he knew it would be better for his family. I want to be like that :)-also I just finished 2 Nephi and I love the end of the teachings of the prophets, because they just bear their testimonies. It's like the very last and most important things they can tell their kids as they're running out of space on the plates :) very neat
I love you all! I hope you are able to see the work of our Heavenly Heavenly Father in your lives. I know He knows and loves each and everyone of us. It is so important that we take time out of our week to serve other people. Also it is very important to take a moment for ourselves. Set aside some time to pray and read and find those things that Heavenly Father has given you to learn :)

Mucho amor!Hermana Hull
