Dia de Madres
Dear Family,
We had splits on Tuesday which was cool to see who the other elders are working with. Most of our appointments fell through so we did a lot of walking but we found some pretty cool people. That night Elder Albornoz was telling me a story and I fell asleep in the middle so he was a Little mad XD but I was super tired! We have a super positive investigator named Katia that came to church by herself and she lives really far away! She already knows a lot of the doctrines of the church because she has a friend in college that taught her a lot which is super helpful. I’d just challenge you all to ask a friend if they’d like to hear a Little bit about the church and share a Little message. The worst that will happen is that they’ll say no but I can pretty much guarantee that they’re going to still be your friend.
Saturday was really awesome. We went on a hike which was super cool. We started out with sausage, bread, beans, and cream but we ended up with a ton of wild fruit that we found on the way. There were wild oranges, avocados, jocotes, and two other fruits that I don’t know the name of but one was kind of piney tasting and the other one was just the flesh around a seed in a pod but it was slightly sweet but really good. We saw a ton of Torogoz which is probably one of my favorite animals right now. They’re super pretty and I’ve been lucky enough to find some feathers!
I’m teaching Elder Perez how to play chess and he’s getting really good! In the beginning I’d just PWN him but now I really have to think about what I’m doing because he’s pretty dangerous.
Sunday we had a baptism after all the meetings. The Little girl’s name is Estrellita or “Little star”. I did the
confirmation which was a first so naturally I was super nervous and I didn’t give a blessing after the confirmation… I’m just going to pray that she gets
all of the blessings that Heavenly Father has for her regardless.
I got to talk with the family after lunch and I was super stressed out because I didn’t do that great of a job telling them what the plan was but when we finally got
connected I felt really relieved.
Ril kwik, Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers in the world! I know that I wouldn{t be the missionary I am today if it wasn’t for my mom. You’re such a strong woman and I love you with all my heart momma! Shout out to all of you other mothers out there and better luck next time earning Best Mom of the Year award. ;P
It was super weird how much everyone changed in 4 months and how hard it was to say some English words… XD I’m a Little bit sick in the throat but we sang in the choir. Not all of the people who sang attended the practices so they kept taking a huge breath when there wasn’t one and they gave us some pretty murderous glares which was pretty funny because we were actually singing correctly.
Deep-Random thought of the week, Remember Jesus. I was super super excited to be able to see the Torogoces on Saturday that when I was trying to
fall asleep, all I could think of and see in my mind was Torogoz, Torogoz, and more Torogoz. Then all of a sudden I thought, What if I was so excited about
our Saviour, Jesus Christ, that I could see his face when I closed my eyes. Sometimes I get a Little wrapped up in worldly things and I forget our Lord and I’m a missionary! I know that the temptations are always there and they don’t appear ugly but the more we can put away our distractions and Focus on the Light of our lives we will be liberated from our burdens and our ability to resist temptation will increase immensely. I’m not perfect and neither are you but we can definitely and always focus on the Saviour more.I've made the goal that when I close my eyes at the end of the day, I’ll be able to see the smiling
face of The Only Begotten. I’d ask that everyone of you take a Little more time to get to know the One that saves us all and make Him the reason that you breathe, sweat, bleed, and cry so that when the time comes, you’ll be able to answer with clarity and conviction the question “do you know your Saviour?” I love this Gospel and I love Jesus Christ. I haven't been away from home very long but I’ve seen the hope that He brings to us change so many lives. He lives and because He lives, so can we. I love you all so much and hope you can feel the Power of
Christ.
