Tansfer 3 (Week 1)
Good morning friends and family. Today I want to talk about the reality that we have a loving father in heaven. That god exists. That he speaks to this people today. 2 Nephi 2: 13-14 says
" 13 E se disserdes que não há lei, direis também que não há pecado. E se disserdes que não há pecado, direis também que não há retidão. E não havendo retidão, não há felicidade. E não havendo retidão nem felicidade, não haverá castigo nem miséria. E se estas coisas não existem, não existe Deus. E se não existe Deus, nós também não existimos nem a Terra; pois não poderia ter havido criação nem para agir nem para receber a ação; portanto, todas as coisas inevitavelmente teriam desaparecido.14 E agora, meus filhos, digo-vos estas coisas para vosso proveito e instrução; pois existe um Deus e ele criou todas as coisas, tanto os céus como a Terra e tudo o que neles há, tanto as coisas que sem como as que recebem a ação. "

13 And if ye shall say there is no law, ye shall also say there is no sin. If ye shall say there is no sin, ye shall also say there is no righteousness. And if there be no righteousness there be no happiness. And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery. And if these things are not there is no God. And if there is no God we are not, neither the earth; for there could have been no creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore, all things must have vanished away.
14 And now, my sons, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon.
I find it not to be a coincidance that when we obey the laws of god he has set for us, even unintentionally, like the word of wisdom, or the law of chastity, in the end, we are always always more happy and satisfied with our lives. This will certainly be the result in the next life as well. When I look around at this beautiful world and the perfect, self sustaining cycles that occur, I see gods hand. I see gods hand every day in my work here in Rio. I am grateful for this. He has not left me alone. I am not working alone just elder Chipman and. We have another companion and I find that comforting. GOD LIVES :)
This week was stellar. Elder Chipman wasn´t transfered! I´ve got 6 more weeks with him. We really thought he would leave. I´m super happy. This week I went an divisions 2 times. First was for a baptismal interview for an investigator of the LZ´z, Elder Lund and Elder Hartle. The interview was for my friend Isaias. He played soccer with him last week. He thinks }I look like a player on the columbian team called Rodriguez. I´ve never seen him haha. But I was very grateful when he asled me to baptize him. I was suprised but I accepted and I baptized him on Saturday, he was confirmed Sunday. I´ve got a cool little friend haha. Friday we did divisions again with the elders on the island Galeão. I was here with elder Burch and we worked well together here. Saturday after the baptism we took a bus back to Galeão and we met a recent convert (was baptized last week) and her whole family was there. They love the missionaries so we were there for a few hours and they made tons of food and we played some games. Sunday we had 3 good investigators at church. One of them is named Jorge and he is very interested in the church. We will teach him this week. Anyways, everything good here. I've got 6 more weeks here in Caxias, probably my last. My training is over finally too. Have a great week everyone!
