Hi son,
Hooray, school is out! Me and the kids are excited for summer break!
How wonderful to have another baptism, Carol and Marciel. And I hope the
new family you are teaching (the mom is Katiana) that their kids will want
to be baptized. That's really neat that your companion had revelation that
the son would serve a mission. : )
Well some sad news. As I am typing this, Papa is texting the family
telling us that Grandma Lynne is in the hospital and most likely will not
make it through the night. She got sick and it was really bad and the
antibiotics are not helping much. She's resting and isn't aware of anyone
around her. Maybe she's even already on the other side. Oh I'm so thankful
to know the plan of salvation and that she will be taken care of and
greeted by loved ones. That's such a blessing! Prayers for Papa and grandpa
George. They will miss her.
Ammon Davis had his "mission farewell" today. He leaves in one week to
Jacksonville Florida. Way to go Ammon!
Our RS lesson today was from the talk in Gen Conf by Pres Russell M.
Nelson "Drawing the power of Jesus Christ into our lives" and here's a
quote from him- "True disciples of Jesus Christ are willing to stand out,
speak up, and be different from the people of the world. They are
undaunted, devoted and courageous. There's nothing easy or automatic about
becoming such powerful disciples. Our focus must be riveted on the Savior
and his gospel. It is mentally rigorous to strive to look into Him in every
thought but when we do, our doubts and fears flee." And one more - "Faith
in Jesus Christ propels us to do things we otherwise would not do. Faith
that motivates us to action gives us more access to His power." It's a
great thought-provoking talk. I hope you've been able to read it. It was on
Saturday morning.
Ok, I need to go. But one more thing. Bishop Hatch's five years is coming
up this summer which means a new bishop and bishopric will be called. In
the last 2 weeks, dad has been interviewed by the Stake Presidency twice. I
was with him too but they talk to him more during it. Not sure what will
come if it. Maybe nothing. They have to interview others. Be sure to not
say anything. Shh! Don't say anything to dad either. But I love your father
very much and he would do well in any calling that is asked of him. I'm
still RS president and I don't feel that my time is ending. Still feel like
I have more to do. Not sure what this all means. But we read and pray and
go to the temple and be ready for whatever comes.
Speaking of that- Do you get to go to the temple soon? Ok. Love you so
much. I love getting your emails and pictures. Be a true disciple like Pres
Nelson described.
Love, Mom
