Elder Yale

Letter may be boring......

I'm sorry if today's letter may be boring. We had a pretty normal week. There was nothing more exciting than usual. Of course our week was nothing short of wonderful. Okay I lied. We had some pretty cool experiences this week. Last week we were looking for a less active man and as we were walking around this apartment complex there was a lady outside smoking. We stopped and started to talk to her and she opened up right away. She told us that she has a strong faith in Christ and she has been wanting to get back into church. We briefly discussed having a prophet on the earth
and told her he would be speaking to us. We invited her to
watch and she said she would! Well Saturday night we got a text from a member telling us if we had any investigators that wanted to watch conference, their house was open. Well this member lives in the apartment directly above Monica, the woman we had talked to. We decided we would go introduce them and have the Melanson's invite
Monica themselves. That went great and she watched it with them and loved it! This week we met with her and taught her more. As we were teaching her, her mother came outside and started to bash on us throwing out very ignorant comments. Surprisingly Monica apologized
about her mother and that seemed to give her even more of a fire. We gave her a Book of Mormon and she told us she would start reading it that night before she went to bed. We came back 2 days later to follow up on things. In the two nights since we'd last seen her she read 140 pages of the Book of Mormon!! She said she couldn't put it down! Both
nights she said she read it until here eyelids just wouldn't
stay open anymore and fell asleep with it on her face. It was so exciting to hear! We have been praying for a family of 4. She has 2 kids and her husband will be home soon! There's no question our prayers are heard. Saturday was a really good day. We went into Austin for a Bi-Stake service project we did at an elementary school. It was a really neat
experience. This was a very old and poor school. Those who worked there and those on the board were so thankful. The whole school and courtyard were transformed to something looking brand new. Right after that is when we found out Monica had read a third of the Book of Mormon. We had a few other lessons. We had dinner with my favorite family and one of our recent converts. To finish the day off we had a beautiful baptism for Cailyn. We have been teaching her for a few months now. (That day we also got Chivas jerseys. They are a Mexican soccer team. And Chivas is goats in Spanish!! Goats!!! Go goats!! How
great is that!?! Goats are awesome!!) I was super excited
because this was Elder Yale's first time baptizing someone. He loved it!! I hope y'all have a great week!

I love you!
