6 Months!

Hey everyone,

I hope you all have had a great week! This week has been pretty crazy here in Spokane and a lot of things are going on so let's get right into it!

First of all we had a baptismal service yesterday for both Henry and Haley!! Both of them wanted me to baptize them which was an amazing experience! I was pretty nervous going into it but it ended up going very well with the actual ordinances that were performed. I could feel the love that Heavenly Father has for both of them and I was able to feel peaceful and not super stressed while doing it because of Heavenly Fathers help! The power of prayer is very very real! So that was the good part but the program for the baptism kind of went crazy, we had some people assigned to do some things that they didn't follow through on but it's okay it all works out. The baptism was definitely different than any other baptism that I have ever experienced before. Henry's family was there and that was great but they ended up clapping when he was baptized. That's not a terrible thing or anything it was just kind of different for the church but we remembered that when Alma had baptized the people in the waters of mormon the people were rejoicing so it was a good experience. We are excited for them to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost next week and become official members of the church of Jesus Christ!

So that brings up the second point, President Nelson is now making sure that we use the correct naming for the church. We are supposed to be calling the church: the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints or the church of Jesus Christ. We are trying to stay away from the term Mormon as that is just a nickname for the church. Of course the book of mormon is still going to be called the book of mormon and I'm super glad that the Lord has given that revelation to the prophet to make sure that we are staying on the right track! Also he said: " We have work before us to bring ourselves in harmony with His will. In recent weeks, various Church leaders and departments have initiated the necessary steps to do so."
AMAZING STUFF GOING ON!!

Some other crazy stuff going on here in Spokane is the smoke. The air quality in Spokane is currently the worst in the country so we as missionaries are now being told to stay inside and not go out as much as possible. So basically we will be trying to figure out what we are going to do while staying inside so that will be interesting... Also our area book on the phone is currently gone. A ton of apps were erased off of all missionaries phones throughout the world just this morning so that makes it even more interesting. Hopefully that gets fixed soon!

Another amazing thing that happened this week was we met with Henry's mom Tammy and had a lesson with her at a members home. We had an awesome dinner and an even better lesson! We taught her the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and she loved it! We even put her on date for baptism on the 8th of September so we are super excited about that! Good things are happening for us right now, the Lord is really providing!

The message that I would like to share this week is seek personal revelation. That is the biggest thing that I got out of this week, seek personal revelation daily and it will come. It doesn't always come right when you want it to but it will come on the Lords time. Review the talk given by President Nelson in the last General Conference about personal revelation, it's called Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives. I know that he truly is called by God to lead and guide the true church on earth today. I'm so grateful for the gospel in my life and for all of you who support me in being on a mission and making a sacrifice to bring other unto Christ. I love you all and I hope you have a great week!

Here are some pics..

Elder Sautter and I were able to go to Dennys and that's one of his favorite places so that was cool!

Us with Henry! We didn't have the chance to get a picture with Haley because of the craziness but we will soon!
