Monday, well today was a good pday. we did groceries and we then went to email you guys you guys probably have heard that there is a book of Mormon series thats in live action so we also watched that the first episode. It's awesome a little cheesy but its cool. We then bought materials to make a new map and we spent the rest of our time making the map and so yet again I didn't get to much study time. Tonight we went to the bishops house and we talked about the people of the ward and we were able to receive 3 good references, so we are happy. We then tried to go to our other appointments but nobody was home. Well a challenge for all of you guys is think of friends or other family members that maybe the missionaries could pass by and visit them, because missionaries are always looking for references especially from members.
Tuesday, today we had splits we also had our district counsel and that was fun, Elder Davis came here and Elder Yates went with Elder Medina. We had a blast we contacted a lot but we worked with some people as well. We had some good contacts and we also had a lot of future people that might be able to progress. Elder Davis is quiet like really quiet way more quiet than me but when it comes to contacting and teaching lessons he talks with no fear its really cool to see. Well we ended our day with a family and they made us cocido and we had a great lesson and that was our day.
Wednesday today was a good day we had a lot of stuff planed but sadly most of it fell through like everything else. But we did find a part family that we can work with and baptize soon. We worked a lot with Milagros who is getting closer and closer to baptism. We looked far and wide for people but nothing came of it we then went to meet with the bishop and talk about some of our investigators and some of the inactive families we are visiting and that was very helpful.
Thursday well today was not planned well we had a lot of stuff to do and not enough time to do it. We had a good planning session and we planed the baptism of Milagros so hopefully it will go smoothly, this particular baptism will be stressful because her mom doesn't live with her so to receive permission will be a pain to get but we are working out the kinks, we had a good lesson with some members and we talked about conversion and what it is. Conversion is a life time process that requires repentance and faith, many people focus on the convert being someone that recently got baptized or recently came to know the church. In truth I'm a convert, I remember that there was a point in my life were i had to grow my testimony or I wouldn't survive on my own spiritually the testimony of our parents can only take us so far, that's why in Alma 32 27'43 Alma invites us to experiment with the words of prophets and teachers and parents and that's how we can gain a testimony but we don't stop when we get a testimony because it always fluctuates or moves constantly. So we much keep experimenting and learning and growing. That is conversion.
Friday well today was full of miracles we were able to find a lot of people to teach today. We had wonderful lessons with the spirit and everything. everything literally went our way we were able people who normally weren't home we were able to find a family that has interest, we also found another part family member to teach so ya we are starting a baptism chain. The only thing that didn't go well was the ward counsel we had it was only complaints and no one let us talk, any problem they wanted to resolve is unresolved or worse than what it was. People are leaving this ward like ants taking shelter from rain. The members here are so prideful and when the leaders are prideful they can't do anything to help the ward progress.
Saturday well today was an awesome day because none of our plans fell through but its was rough in the fact that we had a lesson with a member and her son was treating her like garbage and ya, hes 22 years old he came home from the mission early and now is out of control. He's moving into an apartment with his girlfriend and he didn't tell his mom that hes moving until we showed up and asked him were he was headed. Ya all I have to say that was just up setting to see. I kind of wanted to knock some sense into this guys head. Afterwards we talked with his mom and she was crying and it was a wreck she let him go because it was his choice but his choice just devastated her. I can't understand why people would do such a thing. For me I couldn't imagine in my life time treating my mother the way he did his. This world is sick and twisted and its depressing but the people that are like this and are choosing bad over good they are missing out on the happiness I feel, I mean of course its a little sad to see this situation but I know all will turn out fine and I have faith and hope and with these I know I can live through what ever challenge that I may face. But ya the world is going insane and is just getting worse, I think about the Nephites before Christ came to the Americas the majority fell into apostasy and it was when the church was about to fall that's when he came so... The times coming its just a matter of if we are ready.
Sunday well today was a good day we had a ward conference here and many people came to church. We were able to watch the new youth program that the church is putting in order which is looking pretty good. Today we literally had nothing to do but we worked anyways and so we contacted and we found a family of 10 that let us come in and teach them so that was cool they are funny and are curious as well. It was a big family and they love how I can speak just a little bit of Guarani just to get them to open up. It was a good lesson I felt like I was teaching a mini village with all these people surrounded me listening intently. They asked us to come back afterwards and talked about on of their sisters who lives pretty far away has been visited by the missionaries and we are pretty sure she got baptized as well and that's how they received their books of mormon that they had. It was a pretty good day we had fun and we were able to teach some members as well. But other than that that is all we did today. Today I also was thinking of how I can help people understand the importance of our message as a whole, really it brings comfort in my life, but to help people understand is something that just stumps me because we cant force people to accept or reject its a choice they have, i guess all we can do is live the best we can and be an example to them. Many people are just trying to be happy but they cant see what we see. And I guess that's why they kind of have to experience for themselves if it brings joy or not because we promise happiness but if they don't put in their part they wont be happy but if they do they will have the happiness that we promised them. Well thanks for everything you guys are doing, I love you and have a great week, P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA HOKANSON. Elder Hokanson
