Companion

Brooke Got Baptized!!!

Howdy y'all!

My companion was sick with laryngitis all week, from Sunday to Sunday, so
we stayed in from Sunday to Sunday. We weren't really able to do much...
the only piece of missionary work we were really able to do is baptize
Brooke. Which, I'd say is a good day. :)

It's kind of cool when it's so cold that the blacktop turns white, without
snow. :)

There's a great poem I've run into out here, that many members have on
their walls in their homes. We shared it with Desiree during her
investigation process, and after she got baptized and she gave a talk in
church, she shared this poem and said it was instrumental in her feeling
God's love for her, which led to her being baptized. It's called
Footprints. It's attached in the pictures.

My sister-in-law shared with me her conversion story recently, and I
thought it was really cool because it is quite similar to what happened
here in Aberdeen recently. In Aberdeen, there's this member named Laurissa,
who had been inactive for a few months, or a year, somewhere around there.
Her friend, Kelsey, knew she was Mormon and asked if she could come to
church with her. Laurissa was like, "Sure!", even though she hadn't been in
a while, and she had moved to another ward so she didn't know anybody
because she hadn't been. Laurissa and Kelsey sat with us missionaries,
pretending to know us. :) Kelsey took the lessons and got baptized. Then,
Brooke saw the changes Kelsey made and the happiness that came from it, and
Brooke took the lessons and got baptized. Laurissa was reactivated, and is
now working on her mission papers. :) I think that's pretty cool.
