Javier's Getting Baptized!!!
Hello Everybody!
Javier's getting baptized Friday!!! We're so pumped for him. I've been able
to be with him since his second lesson with missionaries. Watching the
light of Christ come into him, and into his house, has been incredible.
We're excited for this upcoming week, when he'll receive the right to the
constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.
When you think about it, it makes sense that God would only establish one
church, not hundreds. God's sole purpose is to bring us back to live with
Him for eternity to be happy for eternity, and He knows there are certain
things that have to be done a certain way in order for us to be able to
live with Him again. (One way!) Man cannot guess what these things are,
much less how to do them, certainly some guy who wants money (your money)
could never tell you how to successfully return to live with God, nor help
you get there. Certainly it would have to be God telling us what to do, and
how to do it. Well, God has told us what to do and how to do it, through
prophets, just as He always has throughout history and time. There is a
prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson. Following the
prophet is how you get back to God.
Truly, when you teach by the Spirit, you learn a ton, and the Holy Spirit
testifies of its truthfulness to you as you're teaching it and as you think
about what you just said more and more. Truly the Spirit will give unto you
what to say, in the very hour, the very minute, the very moment you are
speaking it. That happened to me as we were teaching Javier last week. We
were having a lesson, and he wasn't understanding it, and the Spirit put
into my mind what to say, and I said it, and I learned so much from it. And
it was *exactly* what Javier needed. He understood everything perfectly,
and why it's important. And, there were things I said, that I had never
connected with each other before. The things I said were actually in the
previous paragraph. :) I felt the Spirit so strong then, when I was given
what to say, when I said it, and I feel the Spirit strongly whenever I
think about those words. That's because it's the truth. :)
Thank you for all the happy birthday wishes!!! I can't believe I'm going to
be 19 in three days!!!
