Elder Despain

What fold am I part of?

So this week was pretty fun! We were pretty busy with Thanksgiving and what not so it was great!

On Thanksgiving we got to go and do service for the Salvation Army and serve food to those who don't have the means of providing for themselves so it was super fun! I got to meet a lot of really cool people so I was grateful for that opportunity! We didn't get to play in the turkey bowl, sadly, but it was worth it.

We also got to play basketball with a ton of other missionaries so that was super fun! Then we played dodge ball to wrap up the night it was a blast!

So we were walking around the temple and walking out the doors was my ward mission leader and our recent convert Miah! I was so stoked to see him and they ended up taking us to lunch and it was so great to see them! They said that they missed Elder Nielsen and I a ton and they are hoping that the work starts picking up like it used to be.

We got to go to one of the church building and dig a drainage system because there was some flooding that happened and a lot of cars were having to drive through it. So we go pretty muddy but it was some fun service.

My thoughts this week come from Alma when he was talking to some of the people. He's talking about their wickedness and abominations that they are committing and asks them a question that I've been reflecting on for a while. He asks them in Alma 5:39, "...of what fold are ye?" I've been thinking about that on and off as I've been serving the Lord and trying to fulfill my purpose, asking myself frequently what fold am I a part of? I just want to invite you to think about what fold you want to be a part of, and then do what it takes to be in it. Show the Lord your diligence and do what is required of you to be counted as one of the Lord's sheep!

Love you all and I know the Lord will bless you in your efforts as you strive to become better! I know He will because he's done it for me! Have a great week!
