Abilene, Texas

Elder Hatch

Happy 4th of July from Texas

Wow this week was jammed packed with a bunch of stuff! Elder Hatch and I are doing so well together and we're getting a lot of work done here in Abilene! We've had some crazy storms here with some awesome thunderstorms and lightning! It's going to add to humidity though, which is not going to be fun haha.
So we went and helped Gabriel with his house again and we got a lot of progress done with it! And I actually took pictures too!
We met with Hallie, one of our investigators and she gave us the date that she wants to be baptized! She is going to be baptized on July 9th, which is this Saturday! We're so excited for her! And our other investigator, Brayden, is getting baptized this weekend in Arizona by his Grandpa! It's great to see the blessings that the Lord is providing!
During Sunday school, one of the members came in and asked if we spoke Spanish. Elder Hatch does and we followed the member to find young Hispanic couples that were looking for a church to join! We gave them a tour of the building and set up a time to go and see them sometime this week! We're super stoked to go in and visit with them!
We contacted a referral that requested a Book of Mormon, and we met this guy named Phillip. He said that he had a pass along card and found out that he could get a book and wanted to learn more about the church and possibly join it! We taught him the Restoration and he loved every bit of it! We gave him a Book of Mormon and he actually committed himself to read it! We were so stoked to be there for him! He didn't come to church though, but we're going to go and see him sometime this week and see how he's doing!
For the fourth of July we had a sweet Zone Training with everyone from our zone and we learned so much there! The mission has just come out with new Standards of Excellence, which are goals to help the mission, the zones, districts and companion-ships progress more in the mission. It was really exciting to see the goals that President Heap came out with and to see what he knows we can achieve, if we are willing to work and are obedient!
We also had a BBQ and played games and sports with all of the other missionaries in the Zone as well! We coordinated a Hawaiian shirt themed thingy and it was really fun!
We had an awesome Zone Conference as well and the Spirit was so strong there. I know that everything that was presented was what the Lord wanted us to hear that day! We talked a lot about the Book of Mormon and how it is our keystone. It was a very powerful conference and it will definitely be one that I keep in the front of my brain book.
I'm grateful for the Power of the Priesthood in my life and the blessings that it can bring for us! I love you all and hope you have a great week!
