Well, hey everyone! Seems like p-day takes forever to come! We have lot’s going on out here. First off, Shout out to my BOYS Ridge and Zak on their mission calls! You're going to bless the lives of so many people! That’s so sad to here about Jamison’s acl! I hope he recovers well! Love ya Bro.
This week was a pretty solid one! Elder Knapp and I did a lot of service for a bunch of less actives in the ward, it's so nice to see their appreciation towards our efforts to get them rollin again! We taught Kiara and Andrea again and they are so stoked to get baptized. We can't wait for August 8th! Elder Knapp and I finished building a barbed wire fence for Sister Garcia at the same time I just got ruined by mosquitoes! I mean torn up. Lots of people say that they want to move back to their mission area when they get home, but I can assure you I won't! The humidity is trash and everything is bigger in Texas, including the bugs.
We taught Christy and her family this week and we taught them the restoration and showed them the restoration video and she loved it! She's had a hard time accepting that there's a modern day prophet and that Joseph smith was a prophet, but she believes in the Book of Mormon – well that doesn't really make sense haha. Even with that she accepted our invitation to be baptized, so next time we meet with her we'll set a baptismal date and help her overcome her smoking problem. She's super tender and we can't wait to help bring her closer to the Gospel. She has a 12 year old son, Anthony, who hasn’t been baptized and he LOVES coming to church and all the activities! He's going to probably be the first person to be baptized in the family and we can't wait!
I'm going to be straight up, the Pampa Ward is the weirdest ward you will ever encounter, no exaggeration. A guy in the ward, Brother Fernuk, invited us over to lunch on Sunday. He's the nicest man that there ever was! Get this, he found a wolf cub when it was a baby and raised it. Now it's like a huge wolf with only one eye. I decided that I'm going to do that when I get back and raise a wolf because it is the coolest thing ever. He also has a massive St. Bernard like the one from the sandlot and it licked my entire face, so dang awesome! He's such a nice guy and he always helps out the missionaries.
I was able to participate in my first baptism this week! It was so spiritual! Her name is Stefany Alanis and her husband Emanuel baptized her! It was so cool and it was all in Spanish! It was a miracle that we were able to teach them because they barely even understand English. That's how we know that the spirit works wonders!
Well, Elder Knapp and I were pretty sick on Saturday so we were out for the count that day. It's great how the spirit works. Everyone that we were supposed to teach actually canceled on us, so we were able to recover. During that time I was able to do a lot of personal study and I memorized D&C 4 (which I advise that everyone do!), The First Vision (a powerful testimony of Joseph Smith), The Standard of Truth and the Baptismal Prayer both in Spanish (I hope I can use that some day)!!
Well everyone, I'll keep you all posted on what happens this week! I know that this Gospel is true and that the Lord loves every single one of you! He understands what all of you have been through, what you are going through and He is here to help you come closer to Him. Let Him help you & guide you to live a better life! You will always find joy when you strive to come closer to Him!
