Laramie, Wyoming

Elder Underwood

Two "Wood" Elders

Well Laramie is great. I love the fact that it is a small town kind of in
the middle of Wyoming, and the college campus is really fun. Lots of
young people, which makes the ysa ward super fun! Like I said earlier,
my comps name is elder Underwood. So the lord must have a sense of
humor putting the two wood elders together. And introducing ourselves
is pretty funny to everyone else. Yesterday in the ysa ward, elder
underwood stood up and introduced himself, and then I stood up and
right as I said elder Littlewood the entire class busted up
laughing... so they've got a sense of humor too. We just try to say or
names as little as possible. I've met some really interesting people
up here that we're working with. Definitely a different culture than
Colorado. But I like it.

On a more spiritual note, last night, we watched the worldwide
devotional by Elder Bednar of the quorum of the twelve apostles. He
talked a lot about family and more specifically the family chain that
we are all linked to. One of the points that he made, is that no
matter what your chain looks like in the past, meaning the past
generations, the future of your family chain starts with you. You
could have a not soo good chain, but change it with your decisions and
actions, or your chain could be solid and you could weaken it based on
your decisions or actions. So either way we are in control of the
future of our chain, and how we act, how we raise our kids and teach
them to continue building on that chain is up to us. And the thing
that binds that chain together is the sealing power which I thought
was really cool! So from this point on, be the strong link in the
chain and do your best to keep the chain strong! I love you all and
hope you have a great week!
