Departing Testimony & Interview

Hey everyone!
Well it has been a very bitter sweet week. This past week we had zone conference. It was pretty weird since it was my last one. But it was good at the same time. I can’t believe this amazing journey is coming to an end. In our zone conference we talked a lot about revelation. It was a great zone conference centered on receiving personal revelation. I also gave my departing testimony. That was weird. I’ve always seen missionaries up there, and never thought my day would come, but it came a lot quicker than I thought. Then the next day we had departing interviews. So two of my last things in two days. It was a little rough. But it just means I’m about to start the next chapter in my life. And I’m very excited about it. Lots of mixed feelings, but ultimately excited for it all!

I just want to share a scripture that my mission president shared with me in our interview this past week. It’s Mosiah 2:41: “41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.” I love this scripture. It lays out exactly what we need to do to be happy. President McMurray asked me if I wanted to be happy and blessed in my life. Obviously I said yes and he asked what I need to do to be happy. According to the scripture, all we need to do is keep the commandments. It is a pretty simple formula for happiness. Just keep the commandments. But it’s important that we do the little things along the way like read the scriptures. Especially the Book of Mormon. We need to pray day and night and have a prayer in our hearts. As we do these things, it makes it easier to stay on the path and keep the commandments. I love y’all! Let me know if you need anything!

Love,
Elder Littlewood
