Hey there y’all!
What a week. Casper is great! I’m very excited to spend my last few weeks here. We don’t have too much of an idea of what’s going on but it seems great. Our ward mission leader is on top of things, and our bishop is great so far. Apparently the ward has a bad wrap with elders but that’s ok. Hopefully we will fix it! My new comp elder Fonotisatele is great and we will finish together so we both want to finish strong which will be good. Our apartment is pretty interesting. The first night we were there, we heard a gunshot super close to our apartment. So that was pretty sweet haha. And it’s super hot which sucks but it’s all good. And last but not least, apparently somebody tried to break into it so that’s pretty sweet. But other than that everything is great!
As we come to the 4th of July tomorrow, I can’t help but think of the war chapters in the Book of Mormon. While it’s easy to get caught up in how much fighting and death that is contained in those chapters, I think it’s important that we look at the purpose behind it all. For the most part, they were trying to protect their rights and freedoms. Especially that of their own religion. I’m so grateful to live in a country where I can practice my religion freely. What a blessing that is to know that I can practice my own beliefs. I love this country! And I love this gospel! Love y’all!
Love,
Elder LITTLEWOOD
