My companion and I crossed something off our bucket list this week—We watched the rice harvest! It was probably the coolest thing I've ever seen. They have this fancy tractor thing that grabs the stalks of rice and separates the grain and the stalks right there and spits the excess out the back. THEN, get this, when they are done a truck is waiting for them, and this huge arm swings from the top of the tractor and spits out all the rice into the truck. So mesmerizing.
7 Yea, verily, verily, I say unto you, that the field is white already to harvest; wherefore, thrust in your sickles, and reap with all your might, mind, and strength.
Also, another highlight of the week was we got to meet with Sister Xiao. We went to her store to confirm with her in the morning, and she said she would have to cancel our lesson with her that night. We were like, "nah". We said we could help her get some of her work done, so we bagged a bunch of chocolates for her and listened to traditional Chinese music. At the same time, she introduced all the customers who came in to us and invited them to meet with us! THEN, at the lesson, the member there totally laid down to her how worshiping ancestors and wood alters is of no use. It’s just worshiping wood. We pay respect to them through genealogy work and doing their temple work! She said she could get baptized at the end of the year. It’ll be a white Christmas!
