6th Area Yamate A in the Yokohama Zone

Elder Ballard

A funny Japanese mistake

Okay back to English now. So this week I did a lot of finding of people and other stuff. First of all, we had our district meeting, and we had a service project at one of my investigator's work. That was fun and a change for once.

Nothing really exciting happend this week other than I set up to meet one convert I had and a previous investigator. I’m meeting one investigator today for one last time. I’m super pumped about that. I also have to start to get things wrapped up with everything, because I literally have three weeks left in the field.

This week we were able to meet with two new people, we newと言うか... One was from English class and one has come to church and everything but is not a member. So we had two lessons this week. We also talked to a pretty good amount of people this week. With one of the lessons, my companion was like, let’s invite her to baptism! I’m like yeah but, we have never taught her and don’t really know her needs. But I went with it and prayed about it and felt that it might be a good route to go. The day of, I felt that she would say no to our invitation. That whole lesson was just hard to teach because the member was giving us some pressure, and I had stress because I am the older missionary and trainer. But we taught it, and it was freakin' long. It was 2 hours. Like I said, she said no. She really doesn’t know as much as we thought. So we need to do some more teaching of her. She has a strange feeling to her... I don’t know what it is but it’s just weird. Oh well.

Yesterday we met so many Jehovah's Witnesses, and we talked to one for a little bit and he tried to dendou us. We listened and he shared a scripture from the Bible. We read it and it was weird, like some random guy wrote it. It had no power behind it either, so now I know that our Bible is correct!

Oh, I also maybe might have said "first menstruation" instead of "symbol" in Japanese to a guy... oops! Well, that was my week. Also that Saturday when you pick me up (13th), one of my converts wants to meet me and you guys when you come. That will be at the Kichijoji station. Also how long are we planning on staying here for? I assumed 2-3 days. But I don’t know. If you could let me know that would be great!
