Hey everyone how's it going? I'm doing great and this week I received another confirmation that this is the Lord's Church and that he leads and guides it today through revelation to his chosen servants. It is amazing! The new change in missionary communication is a huge blessing and I'm pumped to have increased communication with my family. On Friday, when we heard about the change we were super surprised and I wasn't sure if I liked it haha. I was thinking that it was just going to make me miss my family even more, but the more I thought about it the more I understood that it would be a great opportunity to strengthen my relationship with my family and help them to be more a part of my missionary experience and for me to be a part of their lives. I feel so blessed.
It's been a pretty good week actually and we're seeing a lot of progress in the work here in Choloma. We have multiple people in our area who are ready to receive the restored gospel. We are super excited with the success and progress we are seeing in our area. Some of the people we are teaching are as follows:
Valeria: She is a reference from a member. She is 18 years old and she is super interested in the restored gospel. She is progressing really fast and she will be baptized on March 15th. Yesterday, during church, we watched the video of the Restoration and it was super spiritual and she loved it. She is reading in the Book of Mormon and praying for her answer.
Marjori: She is another reference from a member and we are teaching her along with Valeria. She is progressing just as fast and we teach the both of them (Valeria and Marjori) on Sundays because they can't meet with us the other days of the week. She also has baptismal date for the 15th of March.
Andrés: He is a reference from another member and he is also very interested in the restored gospel. He is really shy but he's a really cool guy. He's 18 years old and he will be baptized on March 9th. He is beginning to read in the Book of Mormon and we're hoping he can receive his own personal testimony.
Funny experience of the week:
Yesterday in the morning we passed by for one of our investigators, Elisa, to pick her up for Church. We showed up at 8:15 in the morning to take her to church and when we got there she had us sit down in her house. She looked just about ready to go and so we sat down and then we waited... and we waited... and then it was about 8:48 and church was starting at 9:00. We were just about to tell her that we would have to go early and she could meet us there when she brings out breakfast for the two of us. She brings out this piping hot giant bowl of oatmeal and two muffins. I looked at my companion and he says in english: "Eat fast bro." We couldn't not eat the breakfast she had prepared for us and so I smiled and we scarfed down the oatmeal but it was super hard because it was super super hot and we were burning our tongues. I was freaking out a bit because we needed to go to church. I was supposed to play the piano. We finished eating at about 8:56 and we ran out the door with her following behind us. We got to church at like 9:05 right before the Sacrament. It was super close, but we got there just in time haha.
Spiritual Insight of the week:
My mind was blown this week. I started to notice in my scripture study the word "remember" a lot. As I kept searching, over and over again I found the word "remember" in the Book of Mormon and I love it. That's the most important thing in the gospel- REMEMBER. If we can remember to do things we will be blessed. I love this gospel.
Everything is going well and I'm super excited to call my family. I love you all so much and thanks for your love and support!
