Baptism, getting used to changes
Man I feel like I say this every week, but this week was very fun and successful.
To start out, we had another baptism this week! I'm really seeing the lords hand in our work and I love seeing the success. As a companionship of 5, we have a goal of 10 baptisms this cycle. So far we started the first week off good. I love having two areas in the mission. One is in Chalco called Vicente guerrero 3 which consists of 5 little areas named San Lucas, pueblo nuevo, Alamos, San Martín, and Vicente Guerrero. And in Cuautla which is in the state Morelos (About 3 hours away from Chalco) is named Burgos. It's right next to the city of Cuautla which is pretty nice. We take huge travel busses to get from one area to another. We are going to have 3 elders in Chalco and 2 in Burgos . We are just going to rotate each week.
Monday: I went to the airport with Elder Razo and Haro to drop off Elder Johns, Elder Abrams, and Sister Reyes off at the airport. That took up all of the day. It was super fun and Elder Johns is a really good friend of mine. We kept paying what are you odds while waiting for his flight, and he had to go walk behind people uncomfortably close haha.
Tuesday: I woke up early and took an elder to the psychologist in Lomas of Chapultipec. It's a super rich area and it's described as the Beverly Hills of México. The church has their psychologist center there. We went to vips after. A delicious American restaurant. I ate a juicy hamburger :D
Wednesday: We worked pretty hard in Pueblo Nuevo. We found 6 new Investigators that date and they all accepted baptism.
Thursday: worked hard again but this time in San Lucas, we found 3 more investigators and they accepted baptism as well. We then went to a leadership meeting to train the district and zone leaders on some things.
Friday: Us, the assistants, and the zone leaders headed over to Oaxtepec to the house of President Zapata, to have another leadership meeting. After all of the discussions Me and my comp got recognized for having the 5 baptisms in the cycle previous and got awarded a pretty cool pin with the mission's name on it and angel Moroni in the middle. It was also president's birthday so we celebrated his and the elders with July Birthdays! President smash cake in the faces of every single one of their faces haha. After the meeting, after jumping on the newly bought tramp of President, we went out to our area in Burgos. That day we found 3 new investigators, but only one accepted baptism. We fit 5 people in to 3 mattress that night as well as a few other cockroaches and moths. (the house in Burgos is nice, but there are bugs.
Saturday: Me, elder Razo, and elder Haro went out and worked half of the area and elder Matos and elder Braithwaite worked another have. We also had a meeting for the elders that are district leaders and zone leaders in Cuautla in the morning as well. That went pretty good, after we went to the president of the branch's house to get references and eat food. We ate hamburgers and even better, we got 5 new references. We then went to the offices in Cuautla to get some things for the elders in that side of the mission. After that, we went to Patricia's Baptism (investigator in Burgos) that was super good. She was so happy and felt super content. I gave a talk at her Baptism about the holy ghost. After the baptism Elder Razo, Elder Haro, and I took a huge bus back to Chalco. I slept for 2 hours on it! Super comfy :) (I haven't had a lot of sleep lately, so it was nice)
Sunday: 12 investigators went to church this week in total! It was such a good feeling. I LOVE my ward that I'm in. The people are so nice and loving. They also actually work in their callings. I'm blessed to be in this ward. Easily my favorite.
This week we finished off having 23 investigators that are progressing, 19 we dates for baptisms and 1 baptism this cycle so far. We have 1 possibly 2 next week, and the next week which is the 22nd, we have 7 ready. We are incredibly blessed here with the success we are having. I'm truly thankful for missionary work.
I love you all and I hope things keep going good.
