Another week in Cali and some farewells

So, it seems like it was only a few days ago that I sent my last email... Anyways, the last few days were incredible. The last email I sent I was a little frustrated because our week up until that point had been slow and rough. But, in this email I am here to tell you that God is good. After only having found one family the entire week last week, I went to the temple on Thursday a little bit down in the dumps. However, I left the temple feeling like a new life had been given to me. Me and Elder Martins set out with a lot more energy than when we began the day. We usually don't find someone new to teach on our P days but that night at about 9 pm, we found someone new to teach. What was incredible was that they lived in our apartment complex and had only recently moved in to go to school at the local college. The next day was even more amazing, we set out and found another 3 new people to teach and we felt like we had been blessed. It had reminded me of a scripture that my companion had memorized only a week earlier. The scripture was Ether 12:6, it talks of receiving a witness only after the trial of your faith, we had definitely felt our faith being tried this last week but we kept pressing because we knew the only way to get through it was by going forward. It was amazing to be able to see the blessing of us pushing through the rough part of our week and coming out with finding more new people to teach in that week than we had found in any other week of the transfer. On Saturday we had an amazing opportunity to serve at a Thanksgiving party for senior citizens, we went and helped them clean up after the party. Me and Elder Martins washed a lot of dishes, haha, but it was so cool to see how grateful they were to us for coming and helping them so that they wouldn't have to do it. It was so cool and it was so much like one of the scriptures that we love to share with members when we have appointments with them, the scripture is in Mosiah 2:17 it is pretty well known, it's "when you are in the service of your fellow beings you are only in the service of your God" we share this message with members, especially at this time of year, as Christmas is getting closer and light the world is starting. We invite the members to participate in light the world, the theme this year is one by one and we are focusing on helping our neighbors individually, and so that is what I would like for all of you who read this email to do, go to and sign up for the text prompts so that you can start lighting the world one by one. This season is incredible and the Christmas season is when so many more people are open to coming closer to Christ and you never know who you could be affecting by just doing something really simple. Well, the last thing that I have for you all today is that on Sunday at church we had two siblings , one boy and one girl, give their farewell talks. They are both amazing. What's even a little crazier is that both of them are going to Brazil!! Not the same mission of course but still, both are going to brazil. I was a little discouraged when I found out that both of them have already received their visas and will both be going to the Sao Paulo MTC. But I got over it real quick, my not having my visa just means that I am still needed here. Anyways, that is all for this week, see y'all next week and have a wonderful week.
