So on Tuesday we were in the boarding basically all day. We are still fixing and tweaking some stuff in our boarding so the plumber has to come by and do it all. He came over unexpectedly on Tuesday so we were at the boarding all day waiting for him to do everything, meanwhile Elder Rangwanasha and I studied, ate, studied, planned, ate, and then studied some more. We were in the boarding for like 6 and a half hours... super bummy. Wednesday was super good! we woke up and did some service for the bishops wife at her house building her a garden, we didn't finish it until Saturday cause it was such a big job, but my hands are destroyed, i have blisters on every single finger and I popped them and now it just stings to shake hands with people or grab
anything hahahaha. Thursday was a bummer during the day cause alllll of our appointments fell through and we tracted all day, but then it ended up being successful because we found this lady who has been looking for a church for a while and she invited us in. Her name is Mpumolelu, she is like 35 and she has no job, and she is super sick. She was accepting and understanding everything and then we asked if we could give her a blessing and she said yes. The next day she felt so much better and she had two people call her asking her to come in for job interviews!! Saturday we went and finished the service project at the Molefes (our Bishops family) and began to plant vegetables for her! she is such a strong woman! her husband works six days a week from 5 am to 5 pm and then is gone all day on Sunday for Bishop meetings. not only that but she has two little girls under the age of 5! When we got back to our boarding we were winding down and getting ready for bed and stuff, when this lady knocked on our door, her name is Khosi! she is 30 and has two little kids and she said that she has seen us around the apartment complex and was wondering what we were all about. anyways we ended up sitting outside and talking to her about who we are, what we believe in and just got to know her a little bit better. Turns out she lives at the end of the hallway from us so she cant run from us now:) We gave her a pamphlet and and told her about the restoration. She told us that she has been looking for a church where she can meet new people and her kids can have friends, and that she wants a church where she can do more stuff at home with her family. so that was just perfect!! we told her about come follow me and about family home evening! she said she wants us to come and do a family home evening with her and her kids this coming Wednesday! also we invited her to come to church the next day, but she said that she woke up and was running late, then she got lost, but she said that she was awake and trying to make it to church so that's a good sign!!
so EVERYONE here, for EVERY SINGLE meal has chicken and rice and then some other stuff. there is absolutely no way that i am not going to gain weight while i am here. Anyways, on Sundays the relief society assigns someone to feed us for a lunch appointment, but the appointment is always at like 3 or 4 so its never really lunch. after church we had an appointment with a member whose daughter wants to know more about the church so we went over to their house and met with her and taught the restoration, killed it. Then they fed us Chicken and rice and ice cream and custard, and then it was someones birthday so we had cake. We left there feeling so full. also, the portions of food here aren't small, when you get your plate, you cannot see the plate. needless to say, we left their feeling very full. After that appointment we had the lunch appointment with another members family. guess what... chicken and rice! when i got the plate, i couldn't see the plate, and i did not think i was going to be able to eat another scoop of rice or another bite of chicken, but with the power of the Preisthood my companion and i were able to eat the rest of our food.
after that, we went to visit this ma of a sister missionary who just returned home, we call her "gogo ma". she isn't a member but she wants to learn more after seeing her daughter go on a mission. GUESS WHAT, she prepared some food for us... CHICKEN AND RICE. That hour and half walk back uphill to our boarding was so difficult. I thought i was going to poop my pants.
This gospel is beyond true. There is no more correct book on the face of the earth than the Book of Mormon. It testifies and teaches about Christ and his disciples. It is our pathway to return to him. I have seen and I know that God does answer our prayers. He knows us, and He
loves us. He wants to help us. He is just waiting for us to ask for that help. Mission is so difficult. But I can already see the blessing that come from it. I know with all my heart that Christ walked the face of this earth and that he was lifted up on the cross for each and every single one of us. There is no trial on this earth that we cannot get through, because He is always with us and by our side. When we are walking down the street, I feel as though there is a third person walking behind my companion and I. He will never leave us, no matter how lonely we may feel. He is always there. Turn to Him in every thought and prayer. I love this gospel and love seeing the blessing and miracles that come from it.
