Smallest branch battle: Namwon 11 vs Deacheon 2 .... Daecheon wins 💗🫶🙆♂️ ft. the beach 🏖🌴☀️ Inbox
Hello my lovely friend 🫰
I'm in the coolest place in the world. I'm covering two areas, named Seosan and Boryeong (cool kids call it Daecheon), I'm in the central west costal peninsula area of South Korea, and heres two reasons why I love it already.
1) the OCEAN!!! Went to the beach today, it was so surreal. While we were there we spent 15 minutes talking to a really friendly couple, the wife was Korean and the husband was Brazilian, they met in England. And their kids are fluent in 3 languages. Wild.
2) We serve for two branches. The one in Seosan is so HAPPY!!! A great happy healthy little branch of about 40-50 members, my favorite part was sitting in their primary class of 7 kids. We sang about loving like Jesus did, and we played a game where we all shared finger hearts with everyone in the room. My favorite thing ^^ I love them all so much already <3
But now.
The Daecheon branch
It's actually not even a branch, it's a "group." I didn't even know that was a thing in the Church. We meet in a neat lil office space the Church is renting out
Outside of our amazing recent converts, there are 2 members. The most beautiful 95 and 93 year-old Korean couple I have ever seen in my life. They were dressed up so fashionably, with beautiful hats and jewelry. And the most beautiful halos I've ever seen radiate from someone in Korea. Oh my goodness, my heart 💕melted💕
The serving missionaries are in charge of the whole meeting. There's no piano but thankfully my companion is a wizard at the cello, and he plays it for our hymns. Our opening hymn was "Press Forward Saints"
Press forward, Saints, with steadfast faith in Christ,
With hope’s bright flame alight in heart and mind,
With love of God and love of all mankind.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
I could not contain any of my emotions. I was so overwhelmed with the Spirit, testifying "These are the saints of Daecheon Korea. These are my mighty disciples."
It is my sincerest honor to be serving for the citizens of Korea. It is my humblest honor to be serving for the stalwart members of the Church of Jesus Christ in Korea. And it is my most unbelievable honor to be serving for the Lord Jesus Christ.
I miss you, but please know that I wouldn't rather be anywhere else in the world. It's fantastic here. And it's not because of the awesome food, or because of the scenery, or because it's just cool to serve in an Asian country. It's solely for one reason: the people, and their hearts, and the Christ-like love in between ❤️ and that's something that is universal and eternal. So I know you can discover it in your own area too. Even though I'm in Korea, maybe the discovering of all this love around me is less to do with a change of residence, but rather "a mighty change of heart."
Ha. I had to travel 5000 miles and work everyday for 1.25 years to finally figure it out as I write this to you now. Pretty cool :))
Alright, my time is up, but I love you so much!! Thanks for spending your few minutes with me, 아시겠지만 it means the world 🌎 💜

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
