Korean Grandma's Make it Worth It 🤗❤️

For anyone who didn't know, the Korean way to say hello, 안녕하세요 (an-yeong-ha-sae-yo), directly translates to "is peace with you?" I think that's sweet ☺️

I'm going to keep this email short. Today is a combined zone preparation day, we traveled to 청주 (cheong-ju) where we ate some spicy ckicken feet, went bowling, and now I'm learning how to play ping pong like a Korean. You better watch out - in 2, I'll be a menace 😤

I went on 2 exchanges this week. They were both in beautiful country areas. One was called 충주 (choong-ju) which is really east of our mission, and then I went to a place called 둔포 (doon-po) which is literally the furthest city in our area. Suuuuuper far away. It was super exciting traveling to both of these places. We rode an hour long train ride to 춘주 and they were out of seats so we sat in the middle section between cars. Just sitting on the ground, looking out a small door window to see the beautiful green hills 🏞️ 둔포 was really country. Lots of rice fields on the way. There were only old farmers riding on the bus with us. We got lost later and were in a really weird ally. While we were there an old wise looking man beckoned us, he was really nice, he had Master Ugway vibes. He spoke 6 languages including English. And we exchanged numbers, he really wants to meet with us again :) A miracle that we crossed paths.

On Tuesday I was with an elder named Elder Smith, and hes only been here for 4 months (1 transfer longer than me), but his confidence in talking to people every where we went left me SHOOK. I was like, this elder is NOT that much better at the language than me, yet he is! Because he's so confident and just having fun!! I can be like that too!!
So, ever since then I've been striving to have more confidence, not having 2nd guesses. It's cool to talk to people. It's cool to be nice.
This morning we rode a bus and there was a sweet older lady sitting by herself. And I thought "I should sit next to her" and then I found myself getting up to sit by her. A part of my brain was thinking "WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CANT TALK TO HER!!!" that's a lame part of my brain, because I DID talk to her!! And I'm so glad I did!! She was sooooo kind. I LOVE KOREAN GRANDMAS!!!! She was patting my shoulder all the time. When I told her I was only 19 she freaked out and smacked my arm hahahaha oh man I will NOT be forgetting that anytime soon, she was so CUTE!!! ☺️😇🥰

I also had another priceless experience with Korean Grandmas. While waiting at the bus stop in 둔포, there were 2 really funny grandmas who had so much fun talking with us, and I loved talking with them!!! Again, SO sweet ❤️ patting our hands and telling us how good our Korean is. I told them they were angels and that made them laugh so hard and they gave us more hand pats 💗 I'm never going to forget these moments hahaha 😊😊

Alrighty 여러분, this week is going to be CRAZY!!! We have 3 EXCHANGES!! Soooo much traveling, we're going to try to have TONS of appointments, because we need people to come to sacrament meeting. Who knows what adventures I'll have to say in next week's email. Until then, rock on lovely people 🌟❤️

~D&C 18: 15-16~
15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!
16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!
