Merry Christmas!

Hey everyone,

This week has been another fantastic week here in Hong Kong.

This week found some new people to teach and we had 7 people come to church with us! This week we also got to go caroling over in Tseun Wan. It was good that they scheduled it when they did though, because the following day I caught a cold, but I'm quickly recovering!

This week in our ward the Mandarin elders also baptized a young man named Noble which was great because we brought a bunch of people to see his baptism. Baptism is such a great thing and it is such a unique opportunity for investigators attending to feel the Spirit!

Also, one of my investigators from Kwun Tong got baptized this week as well! Things are going great here in Kwai Chung we're having a blast here. The ward is great, the area is great, and there is tons of really good food around here!

Also this week while doing studies I was reading in 2 Nephi 19 and I really like verse 6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

I love Christmas time! It is truly a wonderful time to be a missionary to be able to share about how Jesus Christ our wonderful Savior, counselor, our mighty God and Father, The Prince of Peace! Missionary work is hard but is such a blessing to share these amazing things!

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,
Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: He gets to Skype home on Christmas day (for him) so Christmas Eve in Denver! And Christmas is exactly 1 month from when he flies home!

Fun fact 2: His letters were pretty short-but then again, we are going to get to talk tomorrow.

You can email Elder Ashton at joel.ashton@myldsmail.net.

If you are one of those busy people who are just now sending out cards, consider including Elder Ashton. He'd love to hear from you. He should still get mail for the next month-it takes about 2 weeks to get there. You can buy international forever stamps (they're round) or put together domestic stamps to equal $1.15 for a regular sized letter.
